Bangsal Harbor is the gateway to reach Gili Islands from Lombok. Either you are flying or sailing with ferries you still have to go through Bangsal Harbor to get to the Gilis. You can reach the Gili Islands by boats from the port of Bangsal, about 1km from the village of Pemenang in Lombok.
You can see here, Gili Trawangan at the distance.
I took a bunch of boats in the harbor captures while in Maine ... and I think this may be my favorite of those captured while in Lubec, Maine. Really liked the diffused soft lighting at this time, and then the alignment of the boats and that nice big yellow float. It was fun moving along the shoreline to line up the boats, and then wait for them to maneuver around in the wind so they were not blocking each other.
I joined the Central Coast Photo Society for a "scavenger hunt" in Morro Bay. On the list of photos to collect was lines and reflections. This one seemed about right!
This was taken from the back of my brother-in-law's boat as we were coming into port after an afternoon of crabbing. It was a magical sunset when the wind stopped after a morning rain and the soft light diffused gently on the water.

Penang Harbor, located on the island of Penang in Malaysia, is a vibrant and historic gateway that has a steady flow of fishing boats and cargo ships. I captured this beautiful sunset from across the harbor, with those easily recognizable container cranes in the foreground.
Visited Half Moon Bay (California) a few weeks back, but on a wrong day or time! There was thick fog and could not get a decent picture of the beach

A harbor seal startled me pretty bad while I was taking this long exposure. It was fishing just camera right.
The unique Port of Port Orford, Oregon is the only Dolly Dock on the West Coast and one of only 6 in the world. The boats are not left in the water. The cranes on the dock are used to hoist each boat out.

Early morning at Monterey Harbor. The old commercial wharf is still home to trawlers and fishing boats. During the evening you can witness the unloading of the shrimp trawlers as they return to port. But it's morning that I like. A sleepy, cool blue morning where the only sounds are the ship bells and the water lapping against the pier and the hulls of the boats.
Happy Slider's Sunday everyone.
