Love between brother and sister...

A cute little one.......Happy Raksha Bandhan and wish you a happy weekend !!!!

Raksha Bandhan celebrates the relationship between brothers and sisters by the tying of a rakhi, or holy thread by the sister on the wrist of her brother.

Because of the gross similarity with a Rakhi, the Indian term for passion flowers (Passiflora) is Rakhi-Flower :)

Have a great festival day !

Raksha means safety and bandhan means bond. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is an important Hindu festival, dedicated to brothers and sisters. On this auspicious day, sisters tie a thread on her brother's wrist and pray for his long and prosperous life.

Raksha Bandhan (रक्षा बंधन) - Celebrating the sacred bond of brother and sister.

Raksha Bandhan, (the bond of protection) or Raakhi is a Hindu festival which is celebrated every year on the full moon day of the month of Shravan (21 August 2013).

Raksha Bandhan, popularly known as rakhi, is a festival observed to pay homage to the sacred and unconditional bond between brothers and sisters. On this festival, as a ritual, a sister ties a colourful rakhi, a sacred thread that symbolizes love between siblings, around her brother's wrist. The festival starts by performing traditional aarti and concludes with prayers. Moreover, as a part of tradition, a brother presents his sister varied exciting gifts and vows to guide and protect her throughout the life

Happy Raksha Bandhan !

Because of its unique features, the Passion Flowers (Passiflora) are symbolic of Rakhi or Raksha-Bandhan - the festival of love and affection shared between a brother and a sister.

Raksha Bandhan (Hindi: रक्षाबंधन, Punjabi: ਰਕਸ਼ਾਬੰਧਨ, Urdu: رکشا بندھن the bond of protection), or Rakhi (Hindi: राखी, Bengali রাখী, Punjabi: ਰਾਖੀ, Urdu: راکھی), is a festival primarily observed in India, which celebrates the relationship between brothers and sisters. The festival is observed by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. The central ceremony involves the tying of a rakhi (sacred thread) by a sister on her brother's wrist. This symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being, and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her. The festival falls on the full moon day (Shravan Poornima) of the Shravan month of the Hindu lunisolar calendar. - From Wikipedia
