You might be able to tell I'm a bit happy here. It's taken a lot for my wife to get to this point and I'm very, very appreciative.
Ok, fine, that's just the flash. But a cool picture of my wife and I working our way through our selections.
This was a great day looking for new wigs with my wife. Not only did I walk away with a wig my wife loved, I came home with two! The very first pick the staff chose was the perfect cut and color. Even after that, the options just kept flying into the private room to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Several more would have been more than good enough but one of the others was also too good to pass up and the two together were about what we thought we might have ended up paying for one.
The first one was a fairly dramatic red (left picture) and got the immediate "That one!" from my wife. The second, that you see in almost all the pictures was closer to the colors I normally wear and fit the make-up I was wearing so it went out for a spin afterwards. She's not here on FB, but for those that know her, both wigs are eerily similar to Alexandra's hair. It's going to be strange when I see her next.
The stylist asked what our relationship was and my wife told her we were married. She said "Oh, that's great! You get to go out as girlfriends sometimes."
On the way home my wife tells me that what she wanted to reply was "Yeah, but it's not the same if I go out with her as it is with my other friends. With her, if I bitch about my husband she takes it way too personally for some reason!"

We tend to hear the complaining. Maybe people bond with each other, for a brief moment, when they're commiserating about their spouses, exes, boyfriends or girlfriends . . .or even stereotyping an entire gender of people.
But, why should they have all the press? There are many good marriages out there. There are so many life partnerships, within marriage and outside of it, that enhance the quality of life for each person, big-time. Some of them seem to function with a natural smoothness, while others require intentionality and hard work. But, they're good. Very good.
When I read a post on Flickr saying, "He loves me so much," or "My wife means the world to me," I want to applaud. Thank you for announcing that!
Can we present to each other, including those who have been genuinely hurt, and are truly trapped in life-sapping situations, that the good stuff is attainable, that there are many models of good relationships, and that there is joy to be found? Not in a way that says, "I have it and you don't," but in a way that replaces the lamenting we ordinarily hear, and that simply gives thanks?
That's not idealistic. I witness wonderful relationships constantly.
Can those of us in happy marriages give that gift to the world?
Why understanding is important between husband and wife?
When a married couple lacks interpersonal understanding they are bound to get into conflicts due to misunderstandings and wrong assumptions about each other. Communication is the key to understanding between husband and wife.
