¡Feliz 2022!

For everyone, whether you celebrate Christmas or you don't, I hope you enjoy this time, I hope you can be with those you love and who love you. As the great Dave Allen used to say... "May your God go with you."

If you are lonely, my heart goes out to you. I don't know you personally, but I still feel for you. Take care and look after yourselves please.

Thank you all my Flickr friends for your friendship and support over the last year(s).

Taken in January 2021, while the snow melted and dripped big lumps on my head - about 10 walking minutes from home.

Have just returned from a Family Christmas away from home, the first time for many years. Hopefully I can catch up with all who favoured, visited and commented on my stuff.

Thought I would post this and wish everyone out there a Great New Years Day at whatever you are doing and a Safe and Healthy 2022.

Best wishes

Patrick

we wish all Flickr friends a happy new year with lots of great photo moments

For the last photo of 2021, I have decided to post this "last colorful dawn of 2021" and in the technical side the most interesting (for me) image.

The LE Calculator app calculated a 2 minutes exposure with a 3-stop ND filter.

With the sun rising by the second and the fog rolling in, the end result was a milky white RAW file, nothing seemed to be blown out but not many details or colors there, either. A case of extreme ETTR so to speak.

Normally I would not bother processing it, but curiosity got the better of me and this is what I got and I quite like it. 😊

With that note, I wish you and yours a very healthy and prosperous 2022! 💕

It is my pleasure to meet you and learn from you, thank you for your support and encouragement throughout the year! 🙏

Live your dreams! 💖

My son's girlfriend and I decided to make some macarons for a final bit of holiday fun to close out this holiday season. These are Gingerbread Macarons, which are quite scrumptious! Recipe can be found here: www.piesandtacos.com/gingerbread-macarons/

The hot chocolate with marshmallows and gingerbread macarons created quite the sugar overload....

Happy New Year!

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast and initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night. Christmas Day is a public holiday in many countries, is celebrated religiously by a majority of Christians, as well as culturally by many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season organized around it.

The celebratory customs associated in various countries with Christmas have a mix of pre-Christian, Christian, and secular themes and origins. Popular modern customs of the holiday include gift giving; completing an Advent calendar or Advent wreath; Christmas music and caroling; viewing a Nativity play; an exchange of Christmas cards; church services; a special meal; and the display of various Christmas decorations, including Christmas trees, Christmas lights, nativity scenes, garlands, wreaths, mistletoe, and holly. In addition, several closely related and often interchangeable figures, known as Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, and Christkind, are associated with bringing gifts to children during the Christmas season and have their own body of traditions and lore. Because gift-giving and many other aspects of the Christmas festival involve heightened economic activity, the holiday has become a significant event and a key sales period for retailers and businesses. Over the past few centuries, Christmas has had a steadily growing economic effect in many regions of the world.
