Had seen a similar pendant that Rebecca, a very talented metalsmith, made some months ago. Unfortunately it had sold by the time I made it to her Etsy shop. Not to worry - after emailing her she agreed to make me two pendants based on the original design, one for a friend and one for me (I love compass roses!). A friend moved to Australia with her husband and son last August for 2 years. With a move that far away, Gina was a little hesitant about leaving their beautiful small farm in Northern Virginia. I wanted the pendant to design a necklace around it for her - so she will find her way home or safely go wherever he life will take her next. On July 1, I board a plane to Alice Springs, Australia and will hand- deliver the necklace to her :) :) :)

A few years ago, a friend taught me how to make earrings...and I enjoy making these in my "spare" time. I thought I might try selling them, but it's not that easy...so I like to give them away as gifts. It's a fun hobby! (When I'm not taking pictures!) : )
Every little leaf and flower is carefully placed in its place. In reality, all the details are much smaller. A true work of art.

The Wonderful spring flower earrings. This is all handmade work. Material: metal silver 925 and cold porcelain. This Lily of the valley white earrings always will be you lovely jewelry, complement your image wedding style. Earrings are not difficult, it are pleasant to wear and easy to care.

Tiny size 12 and 15 seed beads were worked in the round using a solid sterling silver ring as a base to create these distinctive fan shaped earrings. The brick stitch was used in the creation of these off loom woven earrings, and study nymo thread was used throughout with multiple passes of thread for a high quality finished product.
Faceted rondelle beads dangle inside the sterling ring for a little extra visual interest and sparkle. The ear hooks are also sterling silver. The earrings are in a earthy palette of silver gray, olive, pale blue and copper. They have a bit of a bollywood feel to them, but with a more muted color scheme than you would find in that style of jewelry.
Dimensions:
Just shy of 1.75 inches (44.5 mm) tall from the top of the ear hook to the bottom of the beading, and 1.25 inches (31.8 mm) at their widest point.
My first pair of handmade soldered earrings. My own lampwork bead that I broke apart since it had a thermal crack in the middle. Love them, and many thanks to Vickie Hallmark for her patient help!

All four of these dolls featured in this collage have really large dangle earrings! My favorite pair have to be the ones I made for Metallic Madness Yasmin! They are actually one of my favorite pairs I've ever made. I decided to call this design the "shooting star." I was inspired by the purple star beads that I found in my jewelry kit, that just so happened to match Yasmin's outfit. I thought it would be cool if I hung off strands of different sized beads from the star, to look like the sparks coming from a shooting star. I really love how this concept works with Yasmin's ensemble. Plus her blue, silver, and purple colors were so much fun to work with!
Miss Sasha's earrings are super fun with her outfit! I have a bead kit of all gold and silver beads, which were perfect for Miss Sasha's gold outfit. The really large gold balls were actually from a pack of charms I bought at Wal-Mart years ago--I guess I never had a doll that worked with them up until I got Sasha. I thought her earrings would look unique if I put orange red beads on them--to pick up on the pop of color from her sleek shoes! Cloe's earrings use an old favorite design of mine, that I came up with a few years ago, when I first started getting really interested in making ridiculously huge, detailed doll earrings (thank you Bubble Bath Surprise Moxie Girlz for inspiring me). I have all sorts of different colored chain in my jewelry kit--this light metallic blue matched Cloe's dress flawlessly. I then chose an assortment of light pink and blue crystals in different sizes, to hang off the chains. I really love how the color beads and chain I used are almost an exact match to her lovely outfit.
#BFFL Yasmin was the hardest doll to make earrings for. I toyed around with a lot of different ideas for her. My little work table (which was actually just the side table in my living room), was scattered with different types of beads I thought would work with Yasmin and her outfit. I tried many different combinations--some were a bit too ambitious. I knew that I wanted to use the marble green balls for her, since they matched her t-shirt perfectly. I used these same beads on my 2013 Xpress it! Sasha doll too!!! I ended up deciding to use blue wooden beads, since I think that the wood really adds to her bohemian aesthetic. I also found a way of incorporating these ultra unique flower charms that pick up on the floral print of Yasmin's pants. Even though I struggled initially with Yasmin's pair of earrings, I think they are one of my favorite pairs ever. I like them only slightly less than my Metallic Madness Yasmin's pair!!!
