The days just seem to be getting darker. I was once a child, filled with glee and positivity, backed by an endless supply of energy. For years this was a lifestyle I had grown accustom to, like any other child, I only new the small world I was raised in. When school years came along, so did a metamorphosis. I observed at an early age that I wasn’t keen on others, yelling screaming, sniveling little brats that didn’t respect anything in their path. Being raised as an only child for my early years, the sudden influx of children posed a threat to my solitude. I didn’t like it, not at all. I started to form the barriers that still haunt me today in my social life. I like to be alone, society states that this is unacceptable and the universe quickly set forth the antibodies to break down my chosen method of living this life. Antibodies in the form of bullies, mentors, adults, outsiders, strangers; all telling me how to live my life. I am bombarded with words, words that have stuck to my core. I carry around these phrases, and insults, and degredational statements in my daily life, it festers inside and challenges my inner self. In my past, I wasn’t the best at dealing with all of this pent up aggression towards those who surrounded me. At nights I would think desperate thoughts and plot ways to take control of my life in a way that is looked down upon by the common modern man. This piece is a visual progression through a breakdown that I used to welcome so often in my days of darkness.

My photos are presented on a matte surface, devoid of many value shifts. The photos are there to represent a memory of a time that was much darker in my life, the words that surrounded and caged my consciousness are on display for the world to see. From left to right we look at a procession of the breakdown. Stress, downfall, outburst, destruction, and regret. Each piece has words that correspond with the emotion displayed in the image, words that have been spoken to me or manifested within my mind.
