Rollei 75019.00.0-W001, a small handtool for camera service.

Obviously for a Rollei camera, most probably for a Rollei 35 or SL35 type but still unsure about that.

Tools like this are often used on slotted nuts.

More information welcome !

Tyneham, Dorset, England, UK.

Tyneham is a ghost village which was abandoned in November 1943 when all residents were told to leave within 28 days as the area was needed for forces’ training in preparation for D Day. On 17 December 1943 the last residents left believing one day they could return. This was never to happen. Today, the village is still part of the Army Firing Ranges but public access is allowed most weekends.

I wanted to make a lounge or garden chair for outside. And, I'm interested in simple constructions using readily available materials and handtools.

I found images and drawings of the Crate Chair.

The Crate chair was designed by Dutch furniture designer and architect Gerrit Rietveld c1934. Early versions of the chair were made from recycled packing crate wood using standard timber dimensions, in this case 15 x 2cm stock of various lengths, and it's designed to be made by anyone. Anyone with simple skills and rudimentary tools.

The Crate Chair is similar in ethos to the Enzo Mari table I made some time ago.

I managed to cut all the elements from a cheap board from a local hardware store made of glued up timber 2m x 60 x 2 cm. I cut it into four plamks of 14.6 cm, then cut the planks to the required lengths, mostly 45cm, before ripping some of them down to make the battens for the seat, back and arm rests. In the spirit of Rietveld's intention I ripped them in half for simplicity and to save material. I cut everything using a handsaw, planed the planks to something like the same widths and cut chamfers on the battens.

The assembly was helped enormously by the annotated drawings and construction tips of Jorn Ake

My friend helped us build a basketball stand and backboard in our yard. We mostly used wood and steel pieces that we already had, it still cost me more than expected - however, we are very happy to have it now and use it quite often.

A 3-way handtool for camera service for a Rollei camera (Rolleiflex).

The red labels (not original) give the width of that particular tool end.

2 of the 3 ends bear numbers (hidden under the red labels), one is 04861.00.0, the other 08623.00.0

Normally these numbers could refer to the part numbers for which the tool is intended for but until now i didn't find them back in the Rollei service manuals.

More information welcome !

Update 17 May 2011 :

With the international help of some Rollei experts i was able to find 2 of the parts this tool could be used for :

Part 04861.00.0 is used (2x) as a Retaining Ring (Vorschraubring) in the frontcover assy (abschlusskasten) of a Rolleiflex 3,5F.

Part 08623.00.0 is used as a Retaining Ring (Vorschraubring) in the frontcover assy (abschlusskasten) of a Rolleiflex T.

For these partnumbers the Rollei service guides write that tool 12.251 should be used. This tool is described as being an "Universal Assemby Spanner" . Well, guess that this 3-key tool fits that bill !
