It’s my personal favorite day of the week: LEG DAY!

Today’s lower body burnout combines some of my favorite strength exercises for legs with powerful plyometrics in a challenging SUPERSET workout.

What is a Superset Workout?

Simply put, a superset workout pairs two different exercises back-to-back with short rests or no rest in between exercises.

Superset workouts save time by reducing the rest time between two exercises. Thus, you’re performing more work in less time.

For example, a very basic upper body superset workout (and one that I personally do when I’m short on time) could alternate a back exercise and a chest exercises: push ups and pull ups.

You perform each exercise back-to-back either counting reps or in timed intervals with minimal rest periods, repeating as many times as desired.

There are two different types of supersets:

 

- Antagonist Superset: Pairs exercises that target opposing muscle groups.

I forget which. Shin.. calf.. hamstring and quad, I guess. Kinda neat to see how they fire in relation to each other. If I had any idea exactly what I was looking at.

There is not a person in the world who can not work on building their muscles. Even if you don't know it, you can build muscle and even use the same techniques that bodybuilders used for years to do so. You just need to focus on effective techniques and look for solid information that can help you to set and achieve weight training goals. Read these sound advice on achieving solid muscle growth!

 

You should not emphasize speed over a good technique. It doesn't matter which exercise you perform, slowing down your reps to ensure that your technique is perfect will help you to get better generates a shorter amount of time. Stay focused, and be sure that you are properly performing the exercise.

 

Make sure you understand the best exercises to increase muscle mass. Besides the fact that different exercises work on different groups of muscles, there is also a distinction between exercises that increase muscle mass and those that develop tone of muscle. You need to have a varied muscle workout in order to build up the various muscle groups.

 

You need to take in more calories when attemping to grow muscle. You want to eat as much as it takes to gain about a pound a week. Think about different ways to increase your intake of calories. Do this for two weeks, and if you continue to don't see a weight change, you might want to increase the intake even more.

 

It really is easy to create the impression that you are larger than you might actually be. This can be done by focusing your training on your upper chest, your shoulders and your shoulders. A bulkier torso can make your waist appear smaller by comparison, giving you more impressive proportions.

 

Train opposing muscles while in the same session as well as your chest and back, or quads and hamstrings. By focusing on opposing muscles in various exercises, the non-working muscle has a chance to rest as the working one is performing everything. This can lead to a rise in the intensity of your workouts, allowing you to be more effective a lot sooner.
