Arriving at Warnemünde with a service from Rostock is DB Class 442 Talent unit, 442 354.
The Talent 2 is a multiple unit railcar manufactured by Bombardier Transportation. The train began production in 2008 and first entered service with Deutsche Bahn in 2011.
Despite having the same name as the original Talent, designed by Talbot and later acquired by Bombardier, for the most part it does not share technical details with that train, except for the rounded sides and doorways. The crash-optimized design of the cab ends have led to the units acquiring the nickname "Hamsterbacke" (Hamster Cheeks).
Due to an endless series of technical problems (many of them software related) we had to wait two years before we could see this train set in regular operation. Now that it has finally made its way into passenger service it turns out that this "new kid on the block" has a surprisingly ugly face. Very fittingly it was nicknamed "Hamsterbacke" (hamster's cheek).
The conflict about this class of trains between the federal railway administration, the inspecting authority and the producer (about safety issues, the payment etc.) has still to be solved.
Class 442 EMU passes Berlin-Adlershof on the re-opened line from Ostkreuz to Adlershof. The former Academy of Science of the GDR was here, obviously many institutions kept on researching. A Hollywood type of sign was erected, during summer with leafs on the trees a few letters are missing.

Ook rond Berlijn duiken er af en toe Hamsterbäcke op, vooral in de stoptreindiensten. Ik vind het beste leuke treintjes, en onder de imposante kap van Berlin Hbf zet ik ze graag op de foto.
Stel 442 641 met onbekende soortgenoot komt dit station binnen met RB14, op weg naar Nauen onder treinnummer 18908.
Ein Triebwagen der DB: der Bombardier Talent 2 BR442 wird als Mittelhessen-Express auf der Strecke Frankfurt - Gießen - Dillenburg (SE40) eingesetzt, hier beim Halt im Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt / Main. Wegen der auffälligen Gestaltung des Triebwagenkopfes wird der Talent 2 umgangssprachlich „Hamsterbacke“ genannt.

Hamsterbacke 442 704 (een Talent 2) van de DB staat in de avond van zaterdag 27 juli 2013 op Koblenz Hbf gereed om als RB 12246 naar Trier Hbf te vertrekken. Links zien we Desiro Main Line 460 016-9 van TransRegio welke zojuist als trein 25439 aangekomen is vanuit Köln Messe/Deutz.

Talent 2 heißt eine Familie von Triebzügen des Herstellers Bombardier Transportation; im Deutschen Fahrzeugeinstellungsregister werden die Fahrzeuge als 94 80 0442, 1442 und 2442 geführt, bei der Deutschen Bahn als Baureihe 442. Die Mittelwagen tragen die Baureihenbezeichnung 443.
Das Akronym TALENT steht für Talbot leichter Nahverkehrs-Triebwagen. Der Talent 2 ist mit dem ursprünglich von der Firma Talbot gebauten Triebwagen Bombardier Talent technisch nicht verwandt.
Am 23. September 2008 wurde der Talent 2 auf der Innotrans erstmals der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. Produziert wird er im Bombardier-Werk Hennigsdorf
Die neueste Baureihe der DB 442 (Talent 2) am Bahnhof Genshagener Heide am Berliner Aussenring. In der nächsten Zeit wird der Bahnhof geschlossen und ein neuer Haltepunkt etwa 2 km westlich errichtet.

The TRAXX was leading RE 10139, the 1951 RE1 "NRW-Express" service from Aachen Hbf to Hamm (Westf) towards Gleis 2; the Talent 2 (empty at this point) would wait for the approach to Gleis 1 to be set in order to then work RB 32482, the 2052 RB48 service to Solingen Hbf.

Dit materieel is specifiek voor de premetro (U-Bahn) gebouwd. Het materieel is gebouwd door siemens en is gebaseerd op de Combino.
