Assaraya Al-Hamra is built into the southeast corner of the city wall, overlooking the harbor. The existing plan of the main complex is Ottoman, with a mosque, harem and many courtyards, but the castle is undoubtedly built on the foundations of earlier fortresses. The intricate network of paths within the castle reflects the style of winding arcaded streets seen in the old city. The fortress has been added to by each successive generation of Tripoli's rulers, and thus contains a mix of architecture and decoration. The main gateway dates from the 16th century, and shows the influence of the Spanish rulers at the time.

Al-Hamra: a village built in mud and raw bricks, as all the villages in this area were before they were rebuilt with concrete.
On the right you can see the village renovated with modern technologies.
On the left begins, at the confluence of two rivers, the cultivated part surrounded by palm trees and protected by a retaining wall.

The cultivated area of the town is probably divided among the various resident families.
Fences and small fields to allow irrigation without waste.
The perfection of the banks that separate these small areas and the channels that carry the water where it is needed is incredible.
Sticks with rags to scare birds, a simple and inexpensive system used everywhere.

Fahrt zum Valtra Werk nach Finnland
Traktorenmuseum – Valtra Traktorenwerk – De Laval Hamra Farm
7 Tage vom 25. Mai – 31. Mai 2018
Today we went on a field trip to Al Hamra Tower construction site with ASCE, a 414 meters tall skyscraper, and it was the best experience ever since I got into college. It is expected to be completely finished on April 2011, it is one interesting building that got into guinness world record.
We went into this construction lift up to 58 stories high, that was so awesomly scary, I loved it. And from up there was the most incredible view of the city that I have ever seen. So basically it was worth it.
