I remember looking at this design in a book back in college and wondering how the heck it was supposed to work. One big hole for both arms? how does the top stay up? huh? But it's actually pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Hard shape to fit neatly into a rectangle though, at least if you cut it all in one piece, so you end up wasting a lot of fabric.

I made it a little big, so it will still fit her in the summer. And I am in LOVE with how it turned out. I drafted my own pattern too, taking inspiration from this tutorial on The Sewing Dork blog...
I am quite proud of myself. I will definitely be sewing some more - for le bebbeh girl, and maybe even for me!

A nice one from 2010. Blue halter dress with black trim. It was a somewhat winter look as I had on black opaque tights and black 5" patent pumps. I thought a blond look would go better with a blue dress.
Not bad for a big gurl, huh?
