and a poem I wrote a few years ago:
All Hallow’s Eve
The veil is thin between the worlds
and anything might happen
when spirits wander free
among us on this night.
Was that a ghost you saw
or just your neighbor’s children
drifting past the gate
in your front yard?
Sometimes amidst the laughter
we forget to pay attention
to the possibility that what we see
is not as it appears.
So on this night of tricks & treats
with children seeking candy
remember that the costumes
may, in fact, be real!
Hallow is a popular village outside Worcester, UK. The Hallow Village Community Group invited everyone to their HALLOW.....EEN ON THE GREEN on 31 October 2014. There were scores of pumpkins arranged round the magnificent village green oak tree.
There was a carved pumpkin competition.
Many people came in their Halloween costumes, both adults and children for which there were prizes.
There was a food tent, with Hot Dogs, Baked Potatoes, and Pumpkin Soup. Hot Chocolate and soft drinks.
A brilliant evening in the glorious warm atmosphere.
Halloween 2005: we dressed as pregnant Britney & K-Fed. I wore cowboy boots and a fake belly, and ate cheetos while smoking and drinking all night; he sported clip-on corn rows and an air of undeserved accomplishment. Trick or Treat, y'all!
