The railway station, looking south. The signal box is no longer in use, decommissioned October 2018 after a major upgrade on the line. The departing train is heading to Braford (towards me). Beyond Shaw Lodge flats is visible First's Elmwood Garage. The industrial buildings behind the train are part of Nestle UK's Halifax site. This was formerly John Mackintosh's toffee works. As far as I know, Quality Street and Rolos are still made here. It used to be a treat standing on Halifax Station and smelling the toffee!

Halifax 521/522 services appear to have been rebranded & the vehicles partially repainted as 'Red Arrow'. YJ54XNA is seen on a miserable November morning. Apologies for the poor quality - the light wasn't good!

Work in progress in what I hope isn't going to be a half hearted renovation of Halifax Bus Station.

Yorkshire Tiger fades away before your very eyes - in recent days much of the branding has been removed from vehicles. Presumably this is to facilitate a quick rebrand once Transdev takes over in a little over 36 hours from now. YJ59GHF has lost its tiger graphic! It was new to GHA Coaches.

Farewell, Yorkshire Tiger.

The most reliable form of transportration in Halifax in the last few weeks

On our second day in Halifax for the Unison Choruses Festival, I started the day with a short walkabout in the downtown and waterfront prior to the start of the event as I had some time to kill before festival delegate registration began. There weren't any actual festival concerts until the evening, but I needed to connect with the organizers ahead of the busy days to come.

Ex Arriva B7TL/ALX400 LJ05BLV, now with Travel Xpress, waiting outside Crossley Heath School, Halifax. Local landmark Wainhouse Tower is in the background.

I brought my camera along last week when I did a book reading and craft session for kids at the new Halifax Central library. Grabbed a few shots of the awesome architecture.

Lockdown Britain - day 2. Coronavirus claims its first victim in Halifax with the closure of local independent TJ Walsh. The proprietor has a number of drivers aged over 70 and cannot risk their health. He cannot therefore afford to keep the business going and it closes today. WU54DXX has its last morning run out to take up the Lloyds Bank staff shuttle service.

Picture taken during permitted exercise en route to essential work.

New for TJ Walsh - brand new, that is.
