These dread/hairfalls are made from various types of yarn (wool, acrylic, eyelash, fluffy) and ribbon in shades of orange, white, and green. Each dreadfall also has a thick green and white shamrock ribbon in the center and spread through one of the yarns are green sequins and shiny bits. Some of the handspun yarn came from shops on Etsy and some of it is my own handspun wool yarn.
The falls are about 16" (40.6 cm) long. They'd probably work best with long hair, but I managed to get them to stay in my mannequin's short hair just fine using regular hairclips.

These slides are all handmade from veg tan leather which has been dyed into spectacular colours. They are all supplied with a plain hair stick to style into your hair. I personally find that if your hair is quite fine these will slip, but if you put a hairband on your hair first you can still 'pin' these in. The larger styles of hairslide are fantastic for thick hair or dreads/hairfalls.
This style of hair slide is the 'Little Firebird' style, as the overlay on top of the slide has been designed to represent a Firebird wing in the same way as the larger style, but this one was made for finer hair. The dimensions are as follows:

This is a pair of ribbon and yarn dreadfalls (hair falls) that I made recently. They're made from acrylic and wool yarns in shades of brown, green, gold, orange, and red. There are large beads strung onto the yarns, too! Everything is connected to two elastic hair ties; these work best with long hair, but since my mannequin's hair is short, I clipped them into her hair.
Most of the yarns I used are store-bought, but one of the yarns I used in this pair of dreadfalls is actually my first handspun yarn. I love adding in a little extra love to the things I make. :)
