Bridge Cuts, Frank and partners' hairdressing salon, sits on the road just below the railway bridge and just above the River Itchen.
Sometimes my short walk from the car park along the river path yields photo opportunities; sometimes I make my own as I did yesterday when I asked Frank if he would pose for a mono portrait.
Being a photographer himself, he was happy to oblige, and, looking round at the array of mirrors, I suggested we try for a reflection shot. I think it worked OK and I was lucky to arrive for my appointment in a pause in Frank's busy stream of hairdressing clients.
I'm sending him some photos with thanks for indulging me and I hope he is having a restful Sunday.
You folks out there are a lot smarter than me, so I am counting on someone, ANYONE, to tell me what's going on here.
Personal experience with the above product would be a bonus. Anonymity guaranteed.
A candid street photo of a youth-centered barbershop in the public park. A stylish barber is in the process of creating of a trendy hair cut. A young beauty in the background just tosses her hair. She is just an innocent bystander, but gives an additional (and unexpected) touch and contrast to the scene. And she seems to steal the show. That's the power of feminine beauty. ))) May the happiness be with all of them.

Early 1970s version of "Snap-on plastic rollers".These rollers are huge! Look at the hairstyle!
As with all the vintage roller types I am posting, it would be great to hear your experiences and memories if you ever use(d) these or similar rollers.
In case anyone doesn't know what the brushes in brush rollers are. The brushes are used to grip the hair to make setting easier and for tighter sets. The brushes can be removed if one finds them uncomfortable.

These are typical of many plastic brush rollers intended for overnight sets because they are easy to roller, and can be set securly with the included piks to keep them in place.

Classic brush rollers from the 60s, even if this packages calls them mesh. (Mesh is usually without the brush).
Piks are included in the package and are clearly visible, used to secure the roller by pushing the pik though it. The combination of piks and brushes makes these types rollers quite prickly to wear if the st was done poorly , but that didnt stop many women from wearing them daily, either all day or overnight. You can get so used to the classic roller-set feeling of these rollers that they become pleasant to wear, and even get a sense of how well the set was done by how they feel.

Mag rollers like these were also very common, but harder to roll than brush rollers. The snap-on version was to make them easier to use.
