OMG... this one took FOREVER... and then it got shrunk down and half the detail vanished.

In September 2015, Het Entrepot will place several young volunteers in a Bruges cellar where they will spend four days hacking into their home town’s DNA and thrashing out their dreams for Bruges. And all this under the watchful eyes of the outside world as cameras record the entire 4-day project.

They will brainstorm with each other but also have the help of various experts on the subject. Each day will close with an evening programme for the public. You are welcome to join in the debate on their ideas.

Progress! iPhone 2.0 hacked

A recent 'hack session' in the Jocelyn H. Lee Innovation Lab featured several dancing and singing animatronic dolls. Some teens inspected the mechanical insides, while others transformed the fabric covering into 'zombie' dogs. It's all good in the Innovation Lab.

My new camera (Sony DSC-WX1).

This is among my first photos taken with the camera. Here I’m testing out twilight portrait mode (with the flash firing). iAuto in this case would shoot a normal portrait shot with flash firing which doesn't get in enough of the background. In scene mode with this setting, it does, but the colors are mismatched because flash is balanced for daylight. Hence the BW.

Personally, if I'd have more control, I'd probably up it to ISO320, this is quite okay though at 24mm 1/8 sec with OIS on. Since most cameras don't even hold a shutter open that long, I pronounce myself satisfied.

BTW, 24mm in a pocket camera? I'm so happy!

I vignetted the image since my apartment is trash. Must clean! :-)

Have you seen the “Italian Job” which starred Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron and Seth Green?! There’s this scene that Seth Green controls the traffic system of the entire area in which their heist will take place. What if you can pull off same stunt using your normal laptop?!...

During Innovation Lab 'hack sessions', patrons learn how toys and consumer electronics are built and how to repurpose the parts. This month's program saw printers disassembled, motors investigated, drawing machines built and the beginnings of a motor-driven vehicle. It was chaotic, but the acceptable, fun kind of chaos. Not the aliens destroying our planet kind.
