“Hacking” is the term used to describe non-competitive horse riding that’s undertaken outside of the arena, usually on the roads or bridleways. Most horse riders who go on a “hack” will do so for pleasure, but hacking is also a great opportunity to undertake training and fitness work. Riders will usually choose to ride on bridleways where possible, but often they’ll have to ride on the road to reach them.
This particular bridalway leads into Bestwood Country Park where pathways are clearly marked so dog walkers are aware where horses are likely to be…it’s a beautiful place to walk with many paths and your walk can be as short as 20 minutes or half a day to walk all around the whole place,…Sue :)

A view across Hackness Hall and grounds with the spire of St Peter's church and up Lowdale.
This is a favourite area of mine to walk in the autumn as the deciduous tree's take on some great colours before they start to drop their leaves.The low light over the top of Lowdale still lights the tree tops on the hillside.A couple of the later photo's from here had better colour in the sky but i liked the composition of this one better

I took a blade to my JBL headphones today so that the plug would fit in the iPhone. Amazingly it worked.

Taken in the mid 1990s, Hack Mill in Wotton-under-Edge was demolished not long afterwards. The mill can be traced back on this site to the sixteenth century. It was situated at the end of Water Lane.

Wish I could say this was the weirdest part of my run today.
Six blocks later, a young guy jumped in front of me and demanded my headphones and running shoes.
Threatened me with what appeared to be a sandwich.
I said, No.

Hacking is a factor in democratic processes that must be addressed - fake news, invasion of privacy, ... who could count the wys? Technology change must be a part of the future evolution of democracy. Right now Electronic voting machines count about 87% of the votes cast in America today. But are they reliable? Are they safe from tampering? From a current congressional hearing to persistent media reports that suggest misuse of data and even outright fraud, concerns over the integrity of electronic voting are growing by the day. And if the voting process is not secure, neither is America's democracy. Democracy must evolve!
