I knew there'd be a good reason for taking a grumpy pic of myself three years ago! Around two this afternoon, someone hacked my Gmail account and took over, sending emails to all my contacts telling them I'm stranded in England with my family, and that we were mugged and had all our credit cards, money, and phones stolen! (Of course, I still had access to a computer; THAT wasn't stolen, right?) Anyway, I haven't even had time to eat dinner yet with all the phone calls, (thanks, friends; I know you love me!) and Flickrmails letting me know what was up! I've changed passwords on important accounts, and contacted Google. It will be a day or so before it's resolved.
Last time something like this happened, I had been hacked by Nigerians, and they completely controlled my computer! I ended up having to have it wiped to remove the problems! Hopefully, this won't go that far. If it does, I won't be on here for a while, as I don't have the money to fix things!
If you've been contacted by this scam email, please just erase it; don't reply. Tiger Lair, one of my contacts on here, said that if these idiots would spend as much effort doing something worthwhile, we'd have world peace and a cure for the common cold!
Update: It's 11:19 P.M., and after being on the phone and computer all night, (whew!) I finally managed to reset my password and hopefully resume life as normal with my email! Time to go have some dinner. What a day.
