The Hack home in Dade City. The Historic Places of Pasco County (1992) has: “Hack Home. 707 W. Church Avenue. Owners: Thomas and Betty Hanson. This home was built in the late 1890s and has an unusual background: it is virtually identical to a residence the Hack family had when they lived in rural St. Joseph in 1896. As Kate Fuch recalled: ‘Mrs. Hack was very unhappy because she was so afraid of all the creatures, bugs, and snakes. Mr. Hack built a home in Dade City on Church to move away from the bugs. The house plan was copied from the house in the country.’” Another source calls this the Miller house and says it was built in 1890. (2009 photo)
