My new Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional 2, imported from Japan.
I do look at the keys occasionally (thankfully, with black labels on black keys, it's not much), so I needed labels. Also, labels are vital because of so many keys that are in non-standard places and only available through the function key.
The keys have a roughened texture (not a camera artifact). For some reasons, Topre-based HH keyboards don't photograph well.
Color adjustment with GIMP, and depth-of-field effect added with Focus Blur filter.

Hacker-Festzelt is one of the most popular tents at the Oktoberfest in Munich. Even before it opened, at 10 am, there was a long line of kurt lederhosen clad men - clearly seen in this photo - waiting to get in!
This tent is one of the largest at the festival with seating space for 6,900 guests and as the name implies they're sponsored by and serve beer from the Hacker-Pschorr brewery.

One of the best-sounding portables ever produced. This one dates from 1969 or 1970, which were probably the peak years for Maidenhead-based Hacker, before increasing market pressure from far-eastern built sets forced economies which resulted in quality compromises for later sets, even those of the premium Sovereign line.
This set was fitted with a Celestion 8 x 5 inch/ 20.3 cm elliptical speaker (earlier models had used Goodmans speakers) giving famously good sound. Like most of the best radios of this era, the set requires two PP9 type batteries for operation.
I sold this set yesterday.

So, the main news headlines in the UK is the phone hacking saga of press reporters.
Did they hack the phones of murder victims and their families?
Did they hack the phones of celebrities?
One thing its made me realise is that I'd make a very bad reporter.
I really don't care that much about celebrities
and I can't for the life of me imagine what gossip I'd get out of phone hacking the families of murder victims.
