Mount Hunter or Begguya is a mountain in Denali National Park in Alaska. It is approximately eight miles (13 km) south of Denali, the highest peak in North America. "Begguya" means "Child of Denali" in the Dena'ina language. Mount Hunter is the third-highest major peak in the Alaska Range.
Despite being much lower in elevation than Denali Mount Hunter is a more difficult climb, due to its steep faces and corniced ridges; it also sees far less traffic than its larger neighbor.
Some wider comps in comments.

A pair of Steel-blue Cricket Hunter Wasps circled my yard for several days. The only place they would stop was on the orange flowers of the Butterfly Weed.
They strongly resemble Blue Mud Dauber Wasps, which have a longer pedicel (the "stalk" that connects their thorax to their abdomen).
Butterfly Weed is a native plant species, and my favorite Michigan wildflower. Ironically, I have never seen a butterfly land on the flowers, although it does attract a variety of wasps and hornets.
he's not the little baby anymore... how Hunter is so big and loves to jump when I first get in their house... now he's relaxing!!

Tawny Owl taken early morning stood on this perch set against Bluebells on the Forrest floor.
Brown in colouration, with a rounded head and dark forward-facing eyes, the Tawny Owl is typically owl-like in its appearance. Three different colour forms occur across the European breeding range, with the chestnut brown form most commonly encountered within the UK. The facial disk is rather plain in colour and pattern and within this sit the dark eyes and horn-coloured bill.
The upperparts are rich chestnut brown, with areas of both lighter and darker tones that help to camouflage the bird when perched within its favoured woodland habitat. Males and females are similar in appearance but differ in size, though with a degree of overlap; females are the larger of the two sexes (Courtesy BTO).

ready to play in the snow!!
After a 60*F day on Saturday... today we have snow and low 30's...
My DIL sent me this image of our adorable Grand-Pup!!
I watched from pretty far away as these two hunted together. This is not the first time that I have watched a Coyote hunting in the distance with a Northern Harrier following him around. This particular Harrier was even landing right next to the Coyote and just hanging out. It is so incredible to watch.
Sethi, the hunter, in his jungle. The current rather wet and cold weather slows him down a bit and reduces the number of rodents which end up either dead or alive in the house. I'm so glad that Cleo doesn't hunt anymore and Tofu has never shown much interest in chasing and killing other creatures.
"I caught her. Now hand over the money."
"Why in a hurry Mister Hunter? Are you afraid?" ♫

Just a fun pic we did with frennds! Hope you'll like it ♥
Too lazy to write down the credits, but if you wanna know something, just ask :D
Sethi is still a passionate hunter. Almost daily I find one of his "presents" on my doorstep, mainly little rodents. He is interested in birds too, of course, but they seem to know him well and I have noticed that they are much more careful around Sethi than they are around Tofu. The local wildlife had a little break because Sethi had to stay at home for a few days due to his eye infection but that is much better now and the hunter is on the loose again.
A couple of duck and goose hunters heading out from Alviso, California.
In an area as urbanized as the Bay Area, it seems a bit unusual to see this, but it's not, really.

Bargain Hunters (not!)
The minute I laid eyes on this painting at the Portland Art Museum, I knew I wanted to take it for a slide.
Apologies to Kenneth Hayes Miller for inserting myself in his masterpiece Bargain Hunters,
but I could never resist a great bargain jajaja
**thank you Kacey for providing my face :-)**
happy sliderssunday!
The other hawk.......waiting where there is usually a bird feeder hung up. I took it down as to not lure the local birds into the hawks.
I hear the barred owls hooting often, and I’ve seen them flying in the woods but only from far away. Yesterday, this one decided to hunt from the edge of the woods right in the front yard.
