From night photo/ light painting workshop with Troy and Joe, April 2010.
During the busiest times, this slide is always filled about 2/3 to the top. It is fed by the belt on top, which brings packages in from airplanes. Employees at the bottom of the slide (under the fans to the left) place the packages on sorting conveyors with the bar code up for reading by the scanning equipment.

HiLo hubs were a short-lived blend of Campagnolo's high and low flange hubs. The body shell was machined from a solid piece of aluminum and the bearing races were made of ground, heat treated, steel. Oil port holes were drilled into the barrels and were covered with spring clips. These hubs were stamped with the Campagnolo Globe logo as well as the word Record. The year of manufacture was stamped on the hidden inner-wall of the bearing cones. Because they were originally polished to a mirror shine they were quite easy to keep looking new. The quick release skewers were the curved type. The superb quality of the through-hardened cups, cones and high-grade bearings ensured buttery-smooth operation and long lasting performance.
This Belkin USB mini-hub is attached to 'ayeka', the Linksys NSLU2 device which acts as our home server. The 'slug' (NSLU2) only has two USB ports, and one has the main hard disk connected to it permanently, so a USB hub is almost essential if I want to plug in much else to the machine.
The hub is USB 1.1, as this reputedly works better with Unslung (the replacement software 'ayeka' uses). See the notes for a few points of interest.
(Update (28/1/2008): I have just replaced this hub with a USB 2.0 one, just in case I want to connect another storage device in future. No performance problems so far.)

I've got yer ports right here! Now I can have 2 FireWire devices (external HD and DV camera) and 4 USB items (printer, digital camera, another external HD, and cordless mouse) connected to my Mac with now 1 USb and 1 Firewire snake.
My desktop (the real one the stuff sits on) is way less cluttered than before.

These small flange, solid axle, one-piece aluminum body Atom hubs were fitted to numerous mid-priced french bicycles from the 50s through the 70s. Atom brand components were produced by Maurice Maillard. Early hubs had this cursive logo while the later hubs had a block lettered logo.
This is my first photo from the Porst-labeled Cosina camera that I bought last summer, my first photo taken through the Rikenon lens that came with it, and my first photo on Fuji Provia 100F film.
It is obviously not a photo of a hub; the title rather refers to the name of the settlement shown here.
Kitchen Hub is a device designed to help the family eat better, healthier and to reduce food waste. The food stock app controlling information of the ingredients you have at home is the core of it and the rest of apps are a logical consequence. In addition it has stored the individual diets of the family, has a stock of recipes and a shopping assistance function. The smart stand-ring can be easily used in the kitchen as it can be cleaned by washing and the information travels with you also in an app.
