Thankfully, Lulu slowly continues to leave her feral ways behind her. The other night I actually picked her up, hand under her chest/belly, and set her down a few feet away at a nearly empty BaRF bowl to allow her to finish it off. The little girl didn't freak out at all. So last night I picked her up and set her on my lap not once but twice. I believe I stand a chance of trimming some nails soon, but I don't want to blow it by having her associate being picked up with something unpleasant. So I will wait a little longer.

Last night I moved to MoMo's room with Vidalia, Zinnia, and Lulu at about 3am. Lulu required no treats, no other felines already cuddling and purring, nothing of the sort. As soon as I stretched out on the bed, the little girl dove purring under my chin. Even groomed my face for me (how kind!). And she stayed right with me until I got up at 6:30am, throwing herself around to get the best parts scritched.

More progress!

Happy Twosday Tuesday

Mammal & Bird Combo

Harbour Seal (Phoca vitulina)

Double-crested Cormorant DCCO (Phalacrocorax auritus)

Both species have been thriving in proximty to human maritime traffic and activities.

i have noticed that Harbour Seals at this location adopt an upside-down at the surface perspective when hunting..I suppose that it makes sense, clearly delineating a maximized field of view.

2/30 Living in a Democracy

No matter where you stand on an issue, we can't dispute the fact that as Americans (or Westerners for that matter) we have something to be truly grateful for everyday just by being born in this country. Now if only I wasn't driven to drink from all the smear campaigns on tv, the voicemails from past presidents, and the flyers clogging my mailbox! Happy Tipsy Tuesday everyone! Hope you got out there and exercised your right to vote!

Love the little tongue! I love my little, sweet Mellie girl.

I was experimenting with depth of field on my 35mm lens the other day when Dizzy obligingly stood in front of it and offered me a Tongue Tuesday pose, so HTT, everyone, courtesy of Diz. :))

This was taken quite close on f2.2.

There has been a Gray Catbird recently sighted by many in Victoria, which is not a common bird here.

I have not seen this particular individual bird & thought to feature this shot for HTT...

:)

perhaps i will look later today

While the snow is finally gone, there is a threat of some snow later this week. Hopefully just a dusting, although I'd be fine with a May Snow Day series.
