The Scottish Bus Group finally gave into buying the Leyland National in 1977 with 10 going to Scottish Omnibuses and their success led to another 58 being ordered for 1978 delivery.
Alexander (Fife) received 13 of the order, all being 11.3m models and allocated to Kirkcaldy for the Town Services. The first FPN1 is seen in January 1983 leaving the town's bus station for Chapel Village.
