** Some very wonderful shots posted lately by my contacts of very colourful exotic birds. I cannot compete with those sadly, but here is a charming little House Sparrow sitting on the Camellia in the garden

(Passer domesticus) We are moving house in January and we will be sad to be leaving behind our lovely garden and particularly our waterfall which has provided endless photo opportunities with many garden birds :(
Crowded house at Great Ocean Road (Australia) of limestone stacks, a couple being 2 of the 12 Apostles and the rest, rugged cliffs. In time, the rugged cliffs will become severely eroded by the ocean and what remains will become stacks, as the other stacks (to the left in the picture) dissolve and disappear; well demonstrating the never-ending and cyclic processes of nature.

This imposing mansion sits in 1400 acres of deer park, with views across Manchester & the Cheshire plains. The estate was owed by the Legh family for over six hundred years, originally built as a hunting lodge, it was transformed by Thomas Legh during the regency period heyday. The lavish interiors reflecting the great days in British estate life. This photograph was taken over the Reflection Lake, a classic shot for Lyme Park

Old farm in Glaumbær in northern Iceland.
Because of the scarcity of wood on the island, turf was used to build houses in Iceland. This old farm from the late 18th century is built in burstabær style, with its wooden ends or gaflar.

I'm back from a long hiatus. I had to take a break.
Slowly catching up on things but feeling very excited to start blogging again now that things calmed down for me.

Dionysus also spelled Dionysos, also called Bacchus, a nature god of fruitfulness and vegetation, especially known as a god of wine and ecstasy.
Wine was a religious focus in the cult of Dionysus and was his earthly incarnation. Wine could ease suffering, bring joy, and inspire divine madness.
If he somehow came to Pyles, he would probably like to be hosted here, with the green vine deeply rooted next to the blue door of the old stone house.
