The Hertefeld Castle estate, consisting of a castle ruin and attached park, stands in the town of Weeze in North Rhine-Westphalia. It was established in the fourteenth century.

The castle was first mentioned as a knight's seat in 1322. However, it appears that a family of this name lived nearby for significantly longer, since a man named Theodoricus de Hertevenlde was first mentioned in 1179.

In the fourteenth century the castle was the center of an independent domain. However, this independence disappeared in the following years de to increasing subservience to the dukedom of Cleves. In 1322, the domain excluding the castle was sold in 1322 by Wilhelm von Herteveld to Graf Dietrich VII of Cleves. Three years later, the castle too entered the ownership of Cleves. However, the castle was later returned to the Herteveld family in the person of Stephan II von Herteveld, but now as a loan from the house of Cleves.

Following the death of the count Stephan IV in 1485, the family was divided via his two sons into two branches. With the senior branch acquiring through marriage the castle of Kolk in Uedam, Hertefeld castle passed to the junior branch under count Heinrich. This branch later died out in the direct line with Elbert von und zu Hertefeld, who however transferred the estate to his stepbrother Elbert von Steenhaus. Facing financial difficulties, Elbert in turn passed it to his relative Jobst Gerhard von Hertefeld, thereby reunifying the property of the two branches. The hartefeld properties had by this time become quite extensive, incorporating not just Uedam and Weeze but also Boetzelaer castle, Hoennepel, Kervenheim and Zelhem (today part of Bronckhorst).

Jobst Gerhard's father had previously through his good relations with the Duke of Brandenburg, Friedrich Wilhelm, inherited the property of Liebenberg in Brandenburg, which he later made the principle residence of his family. His grandson, Samuel von und zu Hertefeld, was raised to the rank of Freiherr by Friedrich I of Prussia, who frequently lodged at Hertefeld castle during his tours of inspection along the lower Rhine. Another prominent guest was Tsar Alexander I of Russia.

The male line of the family died out in 1867 with Karl von Hertefeld, whose grandniece Alexandrine inherited the property. Since she was married to Philipp Konrad zu Eulenburg, Hertefeld became incorporated into his family property. Alexandrine's son Philipp zu Eulenburg became a personal friend of Wilhelm II, who raised him in 1900 to the rank of Furst. Since the family had also acquired the title of Graf from the king of Sweden, he and his successors were henceforth able to style themselves "Fürst zu Eulenburg und Hertefeld, Graf von Sandels". Philipp himself became notorious only a few years later as a result of the Harden-Eulenburg-Affäre, in which he became a target of the influential publicist Maximilian Harden. In several court cases, he defended himself against allegations of homosexuality without being convicted.

Alexandrines second, Botho Sigwart, became the first family member for some time to make Hertefeld his long-term residence. His opera "Songs of Euripides", which premiered in 1915 at the royal Staatstheater Stuttgart. The principal line of the family returned to Hertefeld at the end of the Second World War, after their principal residence at Liebenburg was confiscated by the East German government.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - JUNE 08: A go-go dancer performs in a spray of water on a float in the 38th annual LA Pride Parade June 8, 2008 in West Hollywood, California. California gay people are looking forward to the opportunity to legally marry, starting June 17. The California Supreme Court refused to stay its decision legalizing same-sex marriage though conservative and religious opponents called for the court to stop same-sex couples from marrying before their initiative to amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage goes to ballot in November. Some county clerks, including those of Kern, Merced, and Kings Counties, are reportedly threatening to refuse to perform all marriage ceremonies in opposition to the same-sex marriage decision. The parade is expected to draw more than 400,000 people. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)

Aaron and Paris live two seperate lives as two gay men in this still prejudice world. Their love for one another stands strong, however. They adore one another and this stands stronger than any mean word or dirty look anyone could ever give them. Love has no bounds.

Note: this is in response to the nonsense going on with this.

The San Francisco Pride parade is a world-renowned LGBT pride parade. It is held on Sunday morning of the Festival. The route is usually along San Francisco's Market Street, from Beale Street to 8th Street.[1] The parade starts nominally at 10:30 am, though it is hours before all the contingents are able to get onto the parade route, and the last contingent doesn't leave the parade route until 2-4 pm.

The parade consists of hundreds of contingents from various groups and organizations. Some of the more well-known contingents are:

Women's Motorcycle Contingent, also known as Dykes On Bikes.[2] Several hundred motorcycle riders, all women. Some of the women are topless, some wear leather or fanciful costumes. The sound of hundreds of motorcycle engines gives this contingent a big impact. Part of the reason they are first in the parade is that it's difficult for motorcycles to run reliably at the walking pace of the rest of the parade, so as the first contingent they can move faster. On November 13, 2006, they won a battle to trademark the name "Dykes on Bikes", having struggled since 2003 to persuade the United States Patent and Trademark Office that "dyke" was not an offensive word.[3][4]

PFLAG, or Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. Usually one of the largest contingents, featuring several hundred people. These are typically the (straight) parents or family members of LGBT people, sometimes marching together with their LGBT relatives. Many carry signs indicating where their PFLAG chapter comes from. It's common to see signs from all over Northern California. This contingent is notable for the swell in cheers (and some tears) that follow it along the route.

Politicians frequently participate in the parade, as a way of making themselves visible to LGBT prospective voters.

Churches of many denominations, or religious-oriented LGBT groups, contribute several dozen contingents.

Dance clubs and LGBT-oriented entertainment businesses contribute several contingents. It's common for a dance club to decorate a flat-bed truck or float, and have several people dancing on it, along with loud dance music.

The Leather Contingent consists of lesbian, gay and pansexual leather and BDSM groups.

Groups which are anti-gay typically do not have contingents. During the 1990s it was common to see anti-gay protestors in the spectator area along the parade route, holding large signs condemning homosexuality, often with biblical passages. In the 2000s such protestors have become less common.

Hundreds of thousands of spectators, if not over a million, line the parade route along Market Street. Some arrive hours in advance to claim a prime spot on the curb with a clear view of the street. Others climb onto bus shelters, the walls of subway station stairs, or scaffolding on buildings to get a clear view. As the parade ends, the spectators are able to pass through the barriers and march down Market street behind the parade. The end of the parade route is near the Festival location at the Civic Center.

Musings from my diary.

For some reason, I watched the Polish singers Tulia sing Metallica’s nothing else matters on YouTube. It just popped up on my YouTube feed one day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=09NqLjHJtGQ

It didn’t turn out to be folk music, like l thought, but it was very good. But be warned that my YouTube music feed changed, and so did my You Tube news feed after watching it. I am still doing statistical analysis on the You Tube algorithm or feed l now get. And my assessment of You Tube is not that flattering.

I am debating with myself if it is a political song, as they sung it. It didn’t seem to be a political song at first, and the possibility that it is political isn’t why l liked it. It just seemed to be a unique cover, of a song l like. But on reflection it could have been sung for political reasons.

I considered that the four young ladies were doing a stone wall. A very polite, f@$k you, to everyone who had criticised Poland, recently.

Days later l am still considering what l saw, and l do it with ignorance from half a world away.

Today it seemed significant that the young polish ladies wore traditional head scarfs with flowers when they were dressed to impress their native Poles. Was it ironic that Poles were being criticised for it and yet other nations are lorded for their tribal displays? So, l wrote, and thus, I considered what l had been seeing.

It appeared to me that the way they had sung it, that it was possibly a song of rebellion, with the connotation of the flowers being vivid Polish sociological mathematics…

It looked to be in contrasted with the west. In the west they had sent their men to war in Afghanistan, for a war on terror that morphed into a war for woman’s and homosexual rights. No one had been sent to war by Poland recently, yet they were the ones being accused of idealistic nationalism.

Unlike the Polish ladies, westerner’s male and female didn’t offer a flower in the hair, but they expected religious like unquestioning self-sacrifice. They didn’t offer a Polish Catholic young lady’s flower. One that involved marriage and children, they didn’t even offer the childless sixties western variant, they offered nothing. Some expected their men to die, if need be, for a cause that they had not initially been sent to war for.

The song raised a lot of considerations for me, especially with the current populist narrative being propagated in the media about Poland. One reporter even going as far as to extrapolate that Poland was on a new religious crusade… Ironically it seemed to me that the atheist left was expecting Christians to follow the example of Christ and martyr themselves for their causes, but the Christians could not defend their own. It appeared to me, that some young Polish ladies might know how to tribally motivate their men and woman better than some of their western counterparts, who were offering nothing for some who would give the ultimate sacrifice for their efforts. Some in the west seemed to be treating their citizens of democratic nations like expendable mercenaries, slaves, or as those that should suffer intellectual sub servitude. Was it like ancient Rome? Were the polyamorists and atheists watching the metaphoric lions eat defenceless Christians, who were being deprived of any defence? Were those calling for an end to Polish democracy sitting outside the arena with no skin in the game? l considered that they were purveying an event, as if it was being called like a sporting match fit for a Roman arena, with thumbs up and thumbs down, and it seemed inhumane.

Four young Polish ladies had produced a lot of thought for a cover of a western Heavy Metal tune. The only conclusion l could come to, was it was a good cover, and unlike Metallica, Tulia couldn’t be accused of selling out.

"you're going to hell."

I'm gay. It's not a secret. Today I happened to catch Michelle Bachman, a very conservative Republican who is running for president, on the television at my mom's house. Michelle is one of those people who strongly believes in praying the gay away and sending gay people to camps where they can be "healed."

These ideas reminded me of those who believe that they or people they know can be changed and that being gay is a choice. Unfortunately, I know people like this. I really hate to get political here, but it's something that really began to bug me going into this self-portrait shoot. I wanted to do something that reflected the needs of those people who wish to repent for their "sin" of homosexuality. No matter how hard you wish and pray, you're always going to be fighting yourself and holding onto your true identity.

I feel like we all just need to love ourselves and each other. Be who you're meant to be and never change. Every single one of you is beautiful and you're going to change the world in some way. Never, ever stop dreaming. And if you ever need someone to listen or talk to, I'm willing and able to listen and give advice. My door is always open. <3

Everytime I lose my self control

It feels like I can't let you go

I'm at the point of no return

Don't ever wanna come back down

I'm up so high above the ground

This feeling I will always yearn

Drifting away

I'm flying, I'm gonna head for paradise

Nothing to say

I'm climbing, I wanna stay right here tonight

Drifting away (x2)

Now I've got you inside of me

I'll take the opportunity

To keep on going with the flow

Don't ever wanna come back down

I'm up so high above the ground

I hope this feeling never goes

Drifting away

I'm flying, I'm gonna head for paradise

Nothing to say

I'm climbing, I wanna stay right here tonight

Prima di tutto vennero a prendere gli zingari...e fui contento perchè rubacchiavano...

Poi vennero a prendere gli ebrei

Poi vennero a prendere gli omosessuali

Poi vennero a prendere i comunisti

Beyoncé - Halo (SYMBL Remix) [Future Bass]

www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eC4tyIA3V8

"Halo"

("I Am... Sasha Fierce" album version)

Remember those walls I built?

Well, baby, they're tumblin' down

And they didn't even put up a fight

They didn't even make a sound

I found a way to let you in

But I never really had a doubt

Standin' in the light of your halo

I got my angel now

It's like I've been awakened

Every rule I had you breakin'

It's the risk that I'm takin'

I ain't never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm lookin' now

I'm surrounded by your embrace

Baby, I can see your halo

You know you're my savin' grace

You're everything I need and more

It's written all over your face

Baby, I can feel your halo

Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo, halo, halo

I can see your halo, halo, halo

I can feel your halo, halo, halo

I can see your halo, halo

Halo

Hit me like a ray of sun

Burnin' through my darkest night

You're the only one that I want

Think I'm addicted to your light

I swore I'd never fall again

But this don't even feel like fallin'

Gravity can't begin

To pull me back to the ground again

It's like I've been awakened

Every rule I had you breakin'

The risk that I'm takin'

I'm never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm lookin' now

I'm surrounded by your embrace

Baby, I can see your halo

You know you're my savin' grace

You're everything I need and more

It's written all over your face

Baby, I can feel your halo

Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo, halo, halo

I can see your halo, halo, halo

I can feel your halo, halo, halo

I can see your halo, halo

I can feel your halo, halo, halo

I can see your halo, halo, halo

I can feel your halo, halo, halo

I can see your halo, halo

Halo

Halo

Ooh

Everywhere I'm lookin' now

I'm surrounded by your embrace

Baby, I can see your halo

You know you're my savin' grace

You're everything I need and more

It's written all over your face

Baby, I can feel your halo

* I am not sure I have ever seen the centre of Hull as busy as it was this past Saturday. The whole city seemed to be in party mode. Apart from the UK Pride parade and concert, Hull also hosted the BBC Proms in the afternoon, the first time they have left London since 1930. Just to round it off there was a folk music and maritime festival happening on the banks of the Humber. I managed to get to all three but Mary did much better she was in the parade and she managed to get a single ticket for the Prom concert not that I am at all jealous.

This image is of of the UK Pride parade which was a colourful and vibrant. It was held in Hull, as we are the city of Culture this year it was also a significant milestone for LGBT people as in 2017 it is 50 years since homosexuality was largely decriminalised. In the top shot there are serving police officers and members of the armed forces who are also members of the LGBT community.

I was struck by the good humour of the crowd and the mutual respect shown by the participants of the parade, onlookers and the police who were there to protect them. I felt quietly a little proud of my country and its people who were able to celebrate diversity in a relaxed and joyful way. We are a more tolerant society than the doomsayers on the right would like you to believe. Finally well done all the police officers that managed the parade and the concert afterwards with common sense and good humour I saw some wonderful interactions between the public and the officers. I am also pleased that unlike some other countries none of them were carrying firearms nor did they need too.

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE A COMMENT IT’S MUCH APPRECIATED AND SO MUCH MORE INTRESTING THAN JUST GIVING A FAVE

and I shall show you a gay corpse", Mart Crowley.

What the hell does it mean? I think

in a word,

it means we are better off not seen

and unheard,

we're unseen, unwanted

that we are just not good enough,

unsupported, unworthy

undeserving of love.

It means feeling lost and unprepared,

feeling scared that nobody cares.

But now I can wipe away tears,

knowing its been years

since I've felt those fears -

I know I'm strong standing here,

loudly sharing cheer

as a proud and caring queer!

The Rolling Stones - Wild, Wild Horses

www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPfG2aU1MpI

Childhood living is easy to do

The things you wanted I bought them for you

Graceless lady you know who I am

You know I can't let you slide through my hands

Wild horses couldn't drag me away

Wild, wild horses, couldn't drag me away

I watched you suffer a dull aching pain

Now you decided to show me the same

No sweeping exits or offstage lines

Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind

Wild horses couldn't drag me away

Wild, wild horses, couldn't drag me away

I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie

I have my freedom but I don't have much time

Faith has been broken, tears must be cried

Let's do some living after we die

Wild horses couldn't drag me away

Wild, wild horses, we'll ride them some day

Wild horses couldn't drag me away

Wild, wild horses, we'll ride them some day

Aldous Harding - Horizon

www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4dVkoOMjLo

Let me put the water in the bowl

For your wounds, babe

Let me fill you up with the fingers of love

You can't lose babe

When you watch me play, does it feel bad, darlin'

When they choose me?

Say again, this place

Say again, this place

I broke my neck

Dancing to the edge of the world, babe

My mouth is wet, don't you forget it

Don't you lose me

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

I've gotta scratch it down, I never could amount

That's it, babe

And now the sugar's run out

And i don't know what to say

Say again, this place

Say again, this place

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

And every now and then, I think about

When you'll die, babe

There's a fall in my head

It floods what you said into the room, babe

I don't belong in the desert

Yes, I can see it, take me home, babe

Say again, this place

Say again, this place

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

Here is your princess

And here is your horizon

All Saints - Pure Shores

www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVNdTXEJv1A

I've crossed the deserts for miles

Swam water for time

Searching places to find

A piece of something to call mine

(I'm coming)

A piece of something to call mine

(I'm coming)

(I'm coming)

Coming closer to you

Went along many moors

Walked through many doors

The place where I wanna be

Is the place I can call mine

(I'm coming)

Is the place I can call mine

(I'm coming)

(I'm coming)

Coming closer to you

I'm moving

I'm coming

Can you hear, what I hear

It's calling you my dear

Out of reach

(Take me to my beach)

I can hear it, calling you

I'm coming not drowning

Swimming closer to you

Never been here before

I'm intrigued, I'm unsure

I'm searching for more

I've got something thats all mine

I've got something thats all mine

Take me somewhere I can breathe

I've got so much to see

This is where I want to be

In a place I can call mine

In a place I can call mine

The Call - Let The Day Begin

www.youtube.com/watch?v=to2KasivROc

Here's to the babies in a brand new world

Here's to the beauty of the stars

Here's to the travellers on the open road

Here's to the dreamers in the bars

Here's to the teachers in the crowded rooms

Here's to the workers in the fields

Here's to the preachers of the sacred words

Here's to the drivers at the wheel

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Now let the day begin

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Now let the day begin, let the day begin

Here's to the winners of the human race

Here's to the losers in the game

Here's to the soldiers of the bitter war

Here's to the wall that bears their names

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Now let the day begin

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Let the day begin, let the day begin, let the day start

Here's to the doctors and their healing work

Here's to the loved ones in their care

Here's to the strangers on the streets tonight

Here's to the lonely everywhere

Here's to the wisdom from the mouths of babes

Here's to the lions in the cage

Here's to the struggles of the silent war

Here's to the closing of the age.

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Now let the day begin

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Let the day begin

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Let the day begin

Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above

Now let the day begin, let the day begin, let the day start

Homosexuality has been recorded in about 130 bird species. Research from the Australian University of Newcastle found that homosexual behaviour in male birds was more common in birds that have a polygynous mating system, ie mate with more than one female. But female homosexuality tended to occur in monogamous species. They focused on 93 species where homosexuality had been recorded in wild birds and found that homosexual activity amounted to less than 5% of overall sexual activity. This boils down to which sex has more spare time to pursue sexual activity. In polygynous species the female typically undertakes all the incubation and chick-rearing duties. But in monogamous species the sexes often share these duties, so giving the female more time to pursue other interests. Mallards certainly fall into the promiscuous category as they will mate with several females if they can, and play no part whatsoever in incubation or chick-rearing duties. The small pond where I photographed these today had 13 male Mallards but no females. The males were clearly charged with testosterone and this male was on the receiving end.

I post this kind of photo because I find it interesting and I hope others will too. But my recent photo of a female Mallard being "raped" by three males seemed particularly unpopular. I'm wondering how many "likes" this one will get.
