R.A.F. Students frolic at Pickfair
Saturday was a day to be remembered by some 25 young Royal Air Force students who were the guests of Mary Pickford at Pickfair in Hollywood. here flight commander Lieut. R. Theobald dives through the legs of Jack Misseldine (left) and Jim Mallinson, while their hostess standing near the edge of the pool and other guests watch. The English youths are learning to fly here before returning home for combat service.

Humans join the puppets from time to time in the series. Here Bill Baird matches his skill with the computer against Kozuko Noguchi and her abacus. This duel of old versus new was urged by puppet characters Snarky (Left) and Gargle (Right). Miss Noguchi won the contest, proving, surprisingly enough, that speed and adroitness with the ancient beaded instrument can outweigh technological advancement, represented by computing machine.
