There seems to be more Holly Blue butterflies around this year, which is great news for me.
I had taken my camera to the local shop in case I saw ducklings. I did not see any of them to photograph but did see this holly blue settling on my way back home.
This is the time of year when birds like to eat holly berries. There were probably 12 robins eating berries from this tree
I have been playing tonight. I don't really know what I'm doing but I'm so pleased with what can be pulled out of my negatives
Been a while since I uploaded an image of Holly my Springer Spaniel. Here she is after a couple of laps of Shakerley Mere, both in and out.
Holly, this is so AMAZING! Thank you very much. I treasure it, such a beautiful gift, with many, many wondrous elements!
Whatever your circumstances I wish that you all can find some moments of joy during this season. I think perhaps we all need a kind Christmas and we on flickr are a really kindly community.
With heartfelt thanks to my flickr friends who have so consistently commented or favoured my photos and shared theirs through the year.
Thank you all so much for sharing your quality photos which is a great way to see and keep in touch with the world from home. Also for your kind comments and favours which are much valued.
I am not able to take on any more members to follow or to post to groups. I prefer not to receive invites to groups.

When I first met Missy, I told her new owners that I was going to kidnapp her because she is SO sweet! However, upon further reflection, I have revised my thinking a little....
I still think that Missy (new gata of Jodiane) is completely adorable, but now that I've been taking care of Edgar & Joko all by my lonesome, I've realized that I need a third cat like I need a hole in the head! I'm very content to just be a special auntie for this little cutie-pie!
This one turned out to be a pretty good pic, especially considering I was holding the camera and taking the pic myself!
A tiny Holly Blue taking up water and mineral salts from the mud in the bottom of the bird bath. Not the prettiest of photos but I like that it shows this behaviour.
Flickr Friday 'bugs' theme.
Holly Brite was the name of a line of Christmas lights we decorated with when I was younger. It is Christmas in the stores already, so here is the holly! My neighbor had his tree up the day after Halloween, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Happy weekend everyone!!
Back Garden - seems to be a good year in the garden for the 1st generation of this butterfly, I photographed my first on the 30th March, and reckon I have seen at least 2 virtually every day since - this female was egg laying on Ceanothus flower heads a couple of days ago.
With 12958 Tons, 11564' yanking on the drawbar BCOL 4626 and GECX 7387 lead Q116 south across the now Lake State diamond and passing the tower that still stands in Holly MI. Out of the 11,564 feet on this train 8,771 of it will be set off at MOTERM in Detroit with the remain 42 cars of junk freight being split between Pontiac and Flat Rock.
Back Garden - she looked as if she was egg laying, however I can't see any sign of an egg (could be my eyesight) (the shed door makes quite a good background!)
