Set up of HJF is starting in a few days. A wonderful park closed to citizens and wildlife banned during best summer days. The main pond where this Little Tern (Sternula albifrons) is fishing will be covered by main stage. As last years it will smell of urine for weeks... That's business Folks!

I didn't expect the drive home from my brother's house in Bishopton today to produce this entire upload of photos, but it's strange the way things go sometimes. I'd spotted this Ambassador at a place just a mile or so from where I live, about a week ago, and on my way home today I stopped to see if there was a way I could snap it. This is obviously a place well known to me, and I've taken various photos over the years, usually on long zoom from the road that sweeps up on a hillside above the property. I took the gamble today of wandering in, thinking that if I was confronted I would launch into a story of how I had one of these as my first car, just over 27 years ago. I was amazed to see the W-reg Metro hiding in there - there's clearly "one of us" living here, and maybe one day I'll get talking to him.

Volvo B5TL / Alexander Dennis Enviro 400MMC number 655 (SJ71 HJF) has passed me several times and I thought I had already captured it!
Here I am on Shandwick Place, late on a Saturday evening, after a very tasty dinner at the Rendezvous Chinese restaurant in Queensferry Street.
After-dark shots are tricky, especially when the street lighting isn’t too bright, but a few setting changes on the camera and very nice to tick this one off my list. It’s funny how some numbers follow us around more than others.
Now if only the electronic display liked my camera a bit more...

Andiamo via, creatura mia,
Via verso l'Altrove.
Li ci sono giorni sempre miti
E campi sempre belli.
Oh, andiamo a cercar l'Altrove.
