My son took this on our recent visit to La Jolla Cove, California. It makes me laugh because the sea lion is loving the sun and has such a fat, fat body for his smaller head.

Tiger is an old man, he misses Beaurje-Catootje after the death of his sister in December he stopped eating, he was so sad and lonely. Meanwhile he started eating again and enjoys the sun and sitting on our laps and cuddling endlessly with Roel.
I'm always sad to see fall receding into the past. It's such a wonderful time of the year.
Pete's tail is like a giant broom. It picks up all kinds of things along our rides, this time a few fallen leaves.
Otto, Tank and Sugar just ahead of me. My daughter Monica taking the picture, walking behind us.
So, until next year . . .
Guru burrowed his way into the laundry bag. He likes to spend time in there, just hanging out and looking through the mesh fabric. Muse thinks it's a little strange.

Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wondrous works!
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually!

His posessions were few: a fountain pen, a bunch of keys, a wallet, a watch. Every evening he stood before the window, looking into the dark, sunk in memories. Now and then a grumble. One hand in his pocket, a cigarette in the other.
I inherited all these things.

[Listen]
I hear him, before I go to sleep
And focus on the day that's been
I realise he's there
When I turn the light off and turn over
Nobody knows about my man
They think he's lost on some horizon
And suddenly I find myself
Listening to a man I've never known before
Telling me about the sea
All his love is 'til eternity
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
He's very understanding
And he's so aware of all my situations
When I stay up late
He's always waiting, but I feel him hesitate
Oh, I'm so worried about my love
They say, "No, no, it won't last forever!"
And here I am again, my girl
Wondering what on Earth I'm doing here
Maybe he doesn't love me
I just took a trip on my love for him
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes

Charles III.... the Chaffinch.
He enters to his own fanfare, demands the throne and dines alone. He crammed about 20 Sunflower hearts into his break over a period of 10 minutes then headed back to the nest to feed the chicks.

Visitors have left all kinds of coins, presumably for luck. He may be a little deaf, for coins are even placed in his ears.
Best seen expanded. I think this is Sitting Hare by Lake District artist Libby Edmondson, though there is no information available. Made in cast bronze.
A male White-crowned Sparrow singing his heart out on an early spring evening.
Young males learn the basics of the songs they will sing as an adult during the first two or three months of their life. They don't directly learn from their fathers, but rather from the generalized song environment of their natal environment.
Because male White-crowned Sparrows learn the songs they grow up with and typically breed close to where they were raised, song dialects frequently form. Males on the edge of two dialects may be bilingual and able to sing both dialects.
seeing and recording are almost simultaneous. His output is limited only by his ability to see. For this reason it has always been my belief that an experienced photographer, given the means to devote himself entirely to creative expression, should be able to produce a tremendous amount of valuable work.

We had been observing two male lions resting on the side of the hill when this one decided to come down and lie in the shade. He looked so healthy and so majestic. He actually came within about thirty feet of us and what a thrill it was. His friend perhaps his brother came shortly after but had injured his paw causing him to limp slightly. I do not think it was too severe and hopefully he will mend quickly. He was gorgeous !
Wishing nyou a beautiful and blessed Friday !

The Taxman. He expresses his psychosis by taxing everything he sees. And what he doesn't see too, why not? He tramples contracts that took decades to be signed, tramples imaginary enemies. He taxes the present, the past and the future. They say he taxed his own mother for giving birth to him. But there is something he will never be able to tax: Love. Because no matter how hard Mr. Taxman tries, we will always find an original way to love. And the good news is that love can heal you, Mr. Taxman. But first you will cry a lot for thrown having so many opportunities in the trash. For having been a thorn in the way of humanity. For having been a pain in the ass.

Rufus, emerging from his tunnel on my patio, agrees with the groundhogs, Wiarton Willy, Fred la marmotte, and their US cousin Punxsutawney Phil...an early spring!!! After all, Rufus is also a rodent, just from a different family :)
Rufus is also busy chasing Mrs Rufus around our yard, so love is in the air!
