A gathering of 'Grandessa' hybrid argyranthemum daisies, in my garden during Spring of 2020. The image has been refined in Adobe Lightroom and given a slender black frame. These are one of my favourite types of daisy to have in the garden. Always available in Bunnings garden centre at Dural, where else? lol

And here's my new thing on Spotify and Youtube Music - an amazing group of artists from around the world called 'Playing For Change'. They do cool cover versions of famous songs, and have really good video clips. This is their version of Stevie Wonder's 'Higher Ground':

Out of the London Eye through the haze

Feeling sorrow for the many lives and families destroyed by violence in all countries. Hope that we can do better and choose an enlightened way.

A resident bird of the jungles and forests at higher altitude found in our neighbouring state. They were everywhere and unlike their common cousins, the common Myna, these birds are relatively quiet and mostly minding their own business.

We saw several in the forest we visited last week. Almost all of them were busy carrying food several times to their chicks. The nests were inside tree burrows - which we could see - but we could not see the chicks. The birds were quite wary as the area had lots of predators. We sighted several Malabar Pied Hornbills, Rufous Bellied Eagles, Hobby, Falcons etc... The Mynas were landing on multiple perches before going on to their nests so as to deter the predators.

Thank you so much in advance for your views and feedback.

The berlin cube cloudified and kaleidoscoped for Sliders Sunday. Composite made of two images taken there in mid July. The first image is a capture I took standing right next to the cube's facade and pointing the camera straight up. In Photoshop, I copied the layer with the original image, flipped the new layer horizontally, and cross-faded it with the first layer by using the blending mode "Overlay" at 75 % opacity. 100 % would have resulted in a punchier look on the right side, but I rather liked the softness and that it somehow looks as if the cube would slowly dissolve into or merge with the clouds. The next step was to replace the sky above the cube(s). For that I used a small part of the very first image I'd taken at the cube; I was just about to compose the image in the viewfinder when I noticed the bird, and decided to skip the composing part in favour of the bird ;-) (Birds, just like photographers, love the new berlin cube. There was a constant coming and going on the cube's roof, and it seems that, while not even all new tenants have moved in, yet, the cube's roof has already been occupied by the bird population that lives in the Hauptbahnhof area.) Next, I gently HDRified the finished composite in Aurora, then went into ON1 where I added some sunbeams to the upper sky part of the image, and added a soft glow for an extra airy look.

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, have a nice and safe new week ahead!

Also known as a Grizzly. This healthy boar was seen and admired in the Tetons with good friends Debbie Tubridy, Jen Hall and Rodney Lange.

"Meriwether Lewis and William Clark first described it as grisley, which could be interpreted as either "grizzly" (i.e., "grizzled"—that is, with golden and grey tips of the hair) or "grisly" ("fear-inspiring", now usually "gruesome"). The modern spelling supposes the former meaning; even so, naturalist George Ord formally classified it in 1815 as U. horribilis, not for its hair, but for its character.

Occasionally a huge male grizzly has been recorded, whose size greatly exceeds ordinary, with weights reported up to 680 kg (1,500 lb). A large coastal male of this size may stand up to 3 metres (9.8 ft) tall on its hind legs and be up to 1.5 metres (4.9 ft) at the shoulder.

A grizzly bear can also be identified by its rump, which is lower than its shoulders; a black bear's rump is higher than its shoulders. A grizzly bear's front claws measure about 2–4 inches in length; a black bear's claws measure about 1–2 inches in length." Wikipedia

Was a treat to safely enjoy the scavenging, digging and hunting for more food before his time to hibernate.

Yes, I wanted to do this zip line, but I gave up on top of the pyramid stone, because I didn't find the adrenaline I needed. I like higher and longer ziplines.

CN L536 rolls underneath the South Side Elevated starting down the Chicago Sub after taking its window at 16th. The South Side Elevated opened in 1892 making it the oldest line on the Chicago "L".

A nice old stone bridge spanning river Meavy near the small village of the same name. We spotted some trout in the crystal clear and still water. I especially like the gnarly and moss-covered tree mirrored on the water surface and framed by the arch.

I'm always pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the full moon, appearing over the trees across the lake and slowly but steadily moving higher and left to right across my wall of windows, fully in my range of view even while lounging on the couch. An unexpected treat always bringing a small smile. On particularly clear nights, it lights up the lake, now just about frozen over and already being utilized as a more convenient thoroughfare for some of the local denizens. I suppose some anticipate this monthly phenomenon by following calendars or charts. I believe I'll continue to be surprised...

I spent about 3 hours standing in the rain yesterday waiting for the thunderstorms to pass over. The first one came and went without any joy but as the second came though I heard a few rumbles then the rain came in pouring down over Loch Lomond. I would like to say this is one image but sadly trying to catch lightning during the day from previous experience is tricky so instead I filmed it on high res video until I had a strike. Then took some stills and blended the lightning into the shot from the video so I had a higher quality image.

The universe does not know whether the vibration that you're offering is because of something you're observing or something you're remembering or something that you are imagining. It just receives the vibration and answers it with things that match it.” -

Abraham Hicks

The words we choose to use when we communicate with each other, carry vibrations. The word ‘war’ carries a whole different vibration than the word ‘peace’. The words we use are showing how we think and how we feel. The careful selection of words, helps to elevate our consciousness and resonate in higher frequencies. -

A no has a different frequency than a yes, and a maybe is all vibration, oscillating between no and yes. My favorite answers have no movement.” -

From our hike last Saturday, windy and sunny on the hills surrounding Belstone, in the north of Dartmoor National Park. There are some signs that granite has been extracted here in the past, the split boulder in the foreground has a row of holes in it, lining the split, possibly to create this break line. A wonderful remote area, only the Dartmoor ponies were all gone....maybe too windy for them?!

Standing at this point, next to the lighthouse, I could feel really like nothing higher exists....great landscape there!

I should've checked my settings before firing off this shot of tonight's sky, at F22 and ISO 6400 it's grainy, but I'm like a man possessed when I see something like this, rushing through the house to grab my camera and shooting before the scene changes!
