Das hier vorliegende Bild stand seit rund zwei Jahren an oberster Stelle auf meiner „to-do-Liste“. Hatte es im August 2019 noch aufgrund der Schatten des Wanks nicht geklappt, so wurde im Juli 2020 nach intensivem Studium des Bergwetters ein neuerlicher Anlauf genommen. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen angekommen passte letztlich alles: Wiese, Klarheit des Lichts und ein wolkenfreies Bergpanorama. Für die nicht Ortskundigen eine kurze Erläuterung des Panoramas im Wettersteingebirge von links nach rechts: die erste deutlich sichtbare Erhebung ist die markante Alpspitze (2628m), der pyramidenförmige Gipfel dient sowohl der Marktgemeinde Garmisch-Partenkirchen, als auch dem inzwischen drittklassigen Eishockey-Traditionsklub SC Riessersee als Wahrzeichen. Für geübte und überaus erfahrene Alpinisten beginnt dort der sog. „Jubiläumsgrad“, welcher über die Grießkarscharte (2463m), den Hochblassen (2707m), die Vollkarspitze (2630m) und die Äußere/Mittlere/Innere Höllentalspitze (2716-2740m) schließlich im Westen die Zugspitze (2962m) erreicht. Wem das zu strapaziös ist, der kann die im rechten Bildrand erkennbaren Seilbahnen ab Greinau oder von Ehrwald in Tirol aus für eine gemütliche Erklimmung der Zugspitze wählen.
Im Tal herrschte eine angenehme morgendliche Ruhe, als die frühere Werbelokomotive 111 017-0 (Bahnland Bayern, genannt “Maxl”) mit der RegionalBahn 59456 der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt entgegeneilte.
This picture has been on top of my “to-do list” for more than two years. A first attempt was not successful due to long shadows in August 2019. Thus I thoroughly studied the mountain weather forecasts and in July 2020 all conditions seemed to be perfect. For all of you who are not that familiar with the Wetterstein mountains, I am going to give you a short introduction. From the left to the right there is the Alpsitze, the Grießkarscharte, the Vollkarspitze, theOuter/Middle/Inner Höllentalspitze, the Hochblassen and finally the Zugspitze. The entire route, which is only recommended for highly experienced alpinists is the so-called “Jubilee Ridge”. Those of you who prefer a less risky trip to the top of Germany’s highest mountain may take the cable cars from Greinau or Ehrwald that can also be seen on the right.
Down in the valley between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Farchant the former advertising locomotive 111 017-0 was hauling RB 59456 to the Bavarian capital.
