I know that there are so many photos taken from this now famous spot that I almost did not place this photo in my stream. However, how can I complete the Tetons without a photo of this icon? So here it is. In my mind it is a reflection of heaven.
Wyoming, USA
Just hit the letter L on your computer to see it large on black.

THANKS!
I loved the way the light was coming through this daisy's petals. There must be flowers in Heaven, right? lol Have a great Thursday!
A gray fox stopped by my campsite in Boot Canyon, gave me the once-over, then looked skyward for divine guidance. The apparent response was to just move on along and let the hapless biped fend for himself. Big Bend National Park, Brewster County, Texas.

No need to imagine
'Cause I know it's true
They say "all good boys go to heaven"
But bad boys bring heaven to you...

After the Heaven's door post here yesterday, here are some of the natural spaces inside this protected area. In winter, access is practically impossible as the forest road runs under steep slopes subject to continuous snow avalanches.
Dopo la foto di ieri, ecco alcuni degli spazi naturali all'interno di questo area protetta. In inverno purtroppo l'accesso è praticamente impossibile visto che la strada forestale corre sotto a ripidi pendii soggetti a continue valanghe di neve.

There are more mushrooms coming, but I thought I'd break it up with a vista of Blanca :)
Today I got my almost forgotten Lensbaby lens out and had fun playing with it.
The manual focus is really tough, especially with moving subjects, but the colors are wonderful and when you nail the focus, it's such a magical look.
A few weeks back, we received another round of Winter Snowfall so I headed down to the Kauffman Gardens area to try to capture some winter scenes of one of my favorite places. The gates were closed and the sun was just in the right position for some wonderful shadows on the concrete path. I'm always on the lookout for new compositions of older scenes.

Mountains rise, they kiss the skies
Tears fall down, the angels cry
Rivers flow into the sea
I'll just float as it carries me
The heavens are near
The water is clear
I'm going
Down waterfalls, down waterfalls
Into the unknown
Down waterfalls, down waterfalls
I'll go with the flow
I'm carried away
By the waves
On top of the waves
Down waterfalls, down waterfalls
I'll go with the flow
Paradise within my reach
Golden shores and a perfect beach
Ocean tides will move endlessly
Pushing me forward, I'll be into the sea
The heavens are near
The water is clear
A panorama of the big meadows and the Sierra Nevada mountains from out of Bridgeport. For me and my family, this was our heaven on Earth.
Every time I come here
I feel like I am passing
Right through Heaven’s Door
What grace has been given me
To feel you right by my side
I can still come back
Every time I feel like I am dying inside
Change is inevitable
But sometimes your soul needs
To be reminded of constancy
The rhythms of your heart
Beating with the memories of history
Open the door to Eden
Remember what gave you that feeling
Of walking the hills with the Angels
The grass soft beneath your feet

I was so pleased to be back in my favourite churchyard again at Glynde in East Sussex, UK, when I visited with my camera on this warm October day. It was turning into a late Autumn, the leaves still clinging onto the trees. The soft light cast a gentle atmosphere over the churchyard, and I thought that a black and white shot would enhance the feeling of history standing still for a little while. Nothing seemed to have changed much here for many years, or for as long as I have known it, and I just wanted to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere for a while.
I have paired this image and poem with Bob Dylan’s original, haunting ‘Knocking On Heaven’s Door’, as it seemed a perfect match to me.
And if you would like to see more of my imagery and poetry, have a look at my website:
Much like the Atlantic, the Alps have my heart. Not just for the skiing and trekking, but for the sheer serenity the scenery always brings me. There's something about the massive trees and the absolutely gargantuan landscape that helps me reset and recalibrate.
I think of it as a reminder. That in the grand scheme of things, I am but a spec of dust. A fleeting second in the timeline that forged giants. An inconsequential, absurdly conceited being facing off with a force too brutal for comprehension.
That when everything is done and dusted, nothing matters.

I was hiking to a vista, when I looked up and saw this beautiful sky. I was looking a the Heavens above me.
It was the prettiest sky I have seen. The trees opened and created this natural frame. I was a hiking a trail called Noah's trail.
