My friend Scott has posted a new video on my HDR Photography that features me walking around Olympic Park in Atlanta taking photos. It's up on his blog, so follow that link over to take a look! He's just starting to learn more and more about photography, and he asked if he could follow me for a while with a video camera. I told him that would be perfectly fine. He was nice enough to edit it together into a nice little 8-minute piece there. I hope you enjoy it.
There is a longer "uncut" version of the video that goes on for 45 minutes. I'll include a secret link to that just to Newsletter subscribers. The next newsletter should come out in the next few days... so get ready! You can sign up here. (It's Free!) (and even better, I promise not to Spam you... I have no Nigerian opportunities to extend to you)
There is one part of the longer video where I set up to take a shot of the Coke Museum. Scott didn't get the security guard walking up to us... but at least you can see a bit of the situation on the ground and what a threat we were posing!
This photo below is one of the many I took that evening with Scott and Rick. I described the best way to get these silky strands on the waterfall... everyone likes those, right?

This is a project i made a while ago. When precisely I can't remember.
It is a video of the view from my room. It is made from 3000 jpgs that were compiled into 1000 hdr pictures that were then assembled in windows movie maker (yeah, I prolly should have used Premier instead).
I really like the outcome, but I'm worried about putting this amount of stress on my shutter : /
Every time I watch this a new detail catch my eye...
Decided to take the KAT Bus downtown for the opening day of the Farmers Market on Market Square. Hopped on the bus just before 10am. It made a bunch of stops along the way, coming to our final destination at the Transit Station downtown just before 10:30am.
I walked through the Farmers Market in about 10 mins and decided to take a stroll through Strong Alley.
Afterwards, it was getting closer to lunch time, so I took a walk down Gay Street and popped into Potchke Deli. This visit, I ordered the Potato Blintz and got myself a Dr. Brown's Black Cherry soda.
Once I was finished with lunch, I determined I needed to make my way down to Volunteer Landing Park to fly my drone. Took lots of iPhone pics along the way. Made it to Volunteer Landing Park and got the drone up in the air. Had to keep it at a low altitude because of the nearby Island airport. Once I had captured the images and video I was wanted, I made my way all the way back to World's Fair Park.
By then, Beth was finished with work and scooped by and picked me up. I definitely got my steps in for the day!

We went to the Kanga, Adult. and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult show (Evil Eye Tour '87 - '97) at The Concourse on Friday evening. It had been eight months since our last live music show.
And bonus, this one was in our neighborhood! (No two or three hour drive to a music venue)

This is the result of my first attempt at creating an HDR video. I tried to upload the video here in flickr but it was always very jerky. In youtube it works fine. You can see it here.
900 photos (300x3), 30 second interval
Each frame is a 3 exposure HDR
Shot in 2 and a half hours
From Sandsundsfjärden, Pedersöre, Finland the sunrise of 5'th october 2008

The work presents a system for automatically producing a wide variety of video enhancements and visual effects. Unlike traditional visual effects software (e.g., After Effects, Shake, Boujou, etc), the system is completely automatic and no manual labor is required from the user. The major limitation of the work is that it can currently handle only videos of static scenes (i.e., videos shot with a moving camera but containing no moving objects in the scene). Efforts are being made to lift this restriction in future work.
Applications of the system include:
High resolution/definition video,
High dynamic range video,
Removing objects from a video,
Creating painterly (NPR) videos,
Video stabilization,
Easy video editing

This video highlights several clips we've made using our new High Dynamic Range (HDR) process. Video is captured on two Canon 5D mark II DSLRs, each capturing the exact same subject via a beam splitter. The cameras are configured so that they record different exposure values, e.g., one camera is overexposed, the other underexposed. After the footage has been recorded, we use a variety of HDR processing tools to combine the video from the two cameras, yielding the clips you see above.
HDR Video provides filmmakers with many exciting new opportunities. Not only can HDR video create interesting effects, it can also allow for even exposure where artificial lighting is unavailable or impractical. For example, when a subject is backlit, one camera could be set to properly expose the subject, the other the sky, resulting in video with perfect exposure throughout.
We will continue to develop and improve the HDR video process for better results and efficiency. For more information, check out our website www.sovietmontage.com.

I wonder if OLED would show more colours, since I think this source has more.

Kates Well
St. Catherine's Well or Kate's Well is a historical natural spring well of significant interest and sits on holy ground,[1] at the foot of Kirk O' Shott's Parish Church,[2] otherwise known as (Shottskirk)[3] in the village of Salsburgh,[4] North Lanarkshire. The well dates back to the 14th century, and derives from the church's former past when it was once a Catholic place of worship as St. Catherines Chapel, which has origins from Catherine of Sienna.
