As we were leaving Cedar Key and heading back to Gainseville we stopped at the entrance of the bridge that leads into the city. The sun had already set but we wanted to get some after hour colors. After sunset can produce some amazing imagery if the conditions are right. This photo was taken way after... in fact it was so dark I couldn't even see the clouds. But I did see an outline, enough for me to tell that it would make for something cool.

This speed boat belongs to the owner of the resort at Coconut Island that invited us over to see the development. I've always found it interesting to see boats sitting on their hull during low tide in Thailand. There aren't too many marinas or docks here so you see this a lot in Phuket.

I was here the other day and shot all JPG files because I had my camera set for wildlife. JPEG is not good for creating eye popping HDR images so I went back this evening to redo the shoot. This time I double checked to make sure it was on RAW. The sunset was much better today than previously but it could have been a lot better, which means I'll end up going back, again.

This is the view I get every morning while I’m here in Phuket, Thailand. The scenery here is spectacular. The sun rise however is either hit or miss… missing more than it hits. But when it does hit, it’s one of the most beautiful places to watch the sunrise.

Most part of the streets in Phnom Phen Cambodia has no traffic lights. This creates a mess out in the intersections. However I've yet to see and accidents. I thnk that's because it's hard to get into an accident when you're going one mile an hour.

A few days ago my uncle took me to this viewpoint that overlooked Kata Beach and Patong. Phuket has many viewpoints that overlook the coastline. This one is a personal fav since you can see the Patong and Kata a very populartourist destination.

This was the closest I got to the bottom of Promthep Cape while I was there shooting the sunset. I didn't want to get too close since I was wearing my flip flops. Flip flops and rock climbing equals accident waiting to happen. Right now I think its a little too early to visit the hospital in Phuket, Thailand. I'll wait till I get a little closer to leaving before get crazy.

Everglades National Park has some very beautiful Mangrove Trees. I really love the roots from this mangrove and how it stretches out so beautifully. I had to convert this HDR image into a black and white photo because of the intense light and lack of color. I was tempted to add some texture to the image but I think it stands without it pretty very well.

This little guy kept swimming towards us at a small lake in the everglades National Park. I'm pretty sure people have been feeding it. Most wild gators would disappear at the first site of humans.

Found another cool looking mangrove tree at Cape Yamu. I had to hike 30 minutes to get to this lone tree. Thirty minutes sounds like a breeze but when hiking through the mud during low tide, it's more exhausting than anything. This photo would be so much better during sunrise but I'm limited to transportation here in Thailand. I am so looking forward to driving again when I get back to America!

Yesterday I spent most of the day on a small island in Phuket called Coconut Island. We were invited to spent some time at a new resort being built there. It was a nice little get away from the mainland in Phuket. I won't say the island is one of the best I've seen in Thailand but it was one of the easiest to get to.

This shot was from a couple of weeks ago when I went crab hunting with Grandpa during low tide at Cape Yamu, in Phuket, Thailand. This tree might be a mangrove but I'm not positive.

I went a little crazy with this one on the colors. Sometimes I like to push the limit just to see how far I can go. With this HDR photo the colors were all over the place so I went with it.

Today we were able to go out and enjoy the sun along the western beaches of Phuket. I only got a few okay shots from this afternoon, which I'll post later tomorrow. This moth photo was taken yesterday around the house while wasting some time and playing around with the macro feature on my 18-270 Tamron lens. It's rare that moths and butterflies around here stay still long enough for me to photograph them.

Tordesillas is a town and municipality, located on the Duero River, in the province of Valladolid, Castile and León, central Spain.
The town is famous for its festival Toro de la Vega in which a bull is slaughtered by people on horseback and on foot. Animal Rights groups have repeatedly tried to stop this from taking place.

This my first time NOT composing an HDR portrait using HDRsoftware's Photomatix Pro. Instead, I used a combination of LR 4, PS CS5 HDR Pro, and manual composition of layers and layer masks.
Clearly, it is a WORK IN PROGRESS. Feedback, comments, hints, and tips welcome and appreciated, especially since I am new to LR 4 and PS CS 5. [I had been using PS CS/CS 3 and LR 3]

It seems like I can't escape the rain here in Thailand. No matter where I go it wants to follow me and ruin my day. When I left the house to explore the west side of the beach today it was beautiful. At least until I got to the beach, and then it started to poor. But all wan't a waste I found a new spot with some cool mangrove trees. This was the best shot that I could manage without exposing my gear to the rain. I added some textures to take away the gloom and doom from the weather.
