The skies here just opened up after the sleet/hail thunderstorm downpour, but after every storm, the sun always shines..
What a spectacular view after the severe sleet storm, with the golden sunset right in front, light rains on top (w/umbrella) and the double rainbow behind me! .
With so much moisture in the air, the golden sunset blankets everything in it’s path with golden colors!.

Had to go back into the archive to find a good photo for Thanksgiving Day today 2015. Found this from North Carolina high up in the mountains on a foggy day. Photo tone mapped in Photomatix Pro and Topaz software.

captainkimo.com/local-villager-mining-for-gold-and-gems-i...
Mining for gem and gold in Thailand is hard work, but from what I was told it's all worth it. As I'm taking photos they work exhaustively under the sun. I tell them I'm also mining for gold, but my gold is in photos, except I don't have to work as hard. However, I'm sure when they find that giant size nugget it will probably be worth more than all my photography assets combined.

Bangkok is like one big green market. Walk down any street and you see food vendors in every corner selling all sorts delicious goods. If you're on a diet Bangkok is not the place to visit. You'll gain a few pounds just by the smell alone.

Obsolete fishing trawlers a victim of covid 19 and rising fuel prices, ultimately rusting away and destined for the scrap yard.
Beautiful colors during sunset at Juno Beach at Juno Dunes Natural Area with amazing mackeral sky. HDR image created in EasyHDR with minor adjustments in Lightroom.

Near the main attraction, where all the shops are. There's these little trails and bridges for an amazing view of where the creek comes from and where it goes.

Tuk Tuks are three wheeled taxies that are very efficient at transporting people from place to place in downtown Bangkok. It's easy to find one because the are all over the place. To get them to come to you, all you need to do is look at them. This guy was getting ready to come over to me because I glanced at him for a second to snap a photo.

captainkimo.com/thailand-fried-chicken-country-style-out-...
Fried chicken is a popular food source, even out in the country. I'm still confused why the local villagers still eat rats. It's rather cheap and tastes a whole lot better too! I think it's more about the hunt than the meal.

captainkimo.com/water-taxi-at-dock-downtown-bangkok-thailand
Water taxies are great for commuting around in Bangkok because it avoids the heavy traffic on the streets. It's also a great way of viewing Bangkok from a different vantage point. I've only taken the water taxi once to go to one of the temples. That one trip only went across the river but it was a spectacular boat ride.

captainkimo.com/thai-guy-selling-grilled-bbq-pork-balls
These aren't pig testicles but pork meet rolled into ball form. Like sausages but smaller and ball shaped instead of the tradition sausage shape. I gave it a try and didn't like it. It had way too much grease and fat. These country folks love eating fat.

captainkimo.com/bangkok-full-of-color-life-and-energy
Bangkok has got to be the most colorful city I've ever been to. It's full of life and energy every where I look. Even down small alleyways people are busy doing something.

This offers a similar but slightly different view from it’s more famous cousin, Tunnel View. Valley View offers views of El Capitan and Bridalveil Falls in the classic juxtaposition but Half Dome is not visible from this vantage point. However, instead of Half Dome, the lovely and serene Merced River graces the foreground between these two icons providing some beautiful texture to otherwise cold granite vistas. The view is particularly nice in fall when the grasses in the Merced River change color, in winter when the meadows are draped in snow, and early spring when Bridalveil Fall is at it’s peak.

captainkimo.com/trap-for-catching-bugs-at-night-in-thailand
The Thai folks out in Thailand's country side love eating bugs. You name the bug and I'm sure they have a recipe for it. Catching bugs isn't difficult, they set up traps like these at night. The bugs fly towards the light. Eventually they get tired and slide down the plastic sheet into the pot filled with water. And I'm guessing when the bugs get wet, they can't fly out.

A while back I posted a lady mining gold in Thailand. This is the house where they stay and store their tools. Kinda looks like something from a Mad Max movie but with trees.

captainkimo.com/old-couple-getting-ready-to-setup-shop-fo...
Old Thai couple getting ready to sell food at the local Thailand market in Ban Kruat. I would have helped but I had my hands full, plus they seem petty capable and I didn't want to insinuate that they weren't. Culture here is a different. I've learn not to interfere so I don't risk the chance of insulting anyone.
