I had to dismantle a laptop recently so took the opportunity to harvest some bits. The inner workings of a HDD have always fascinated me. How the arm dances across the spinning disk reading and writing information is mind boggling! Of course, these are now old school with the advent of the SSD. Altogether more reliable but less appealing in an image.
Part of a external hard disk casing. Picture is just converted to B&W and reframed to 1x1 dimension.
Here comes another radio telescope from a while back that has been waiting its moment on my HDD to be post processed into this hour and twenty minutes star trails.

After my old Hard drive failed, I replaced it with a new SSD. So much faster. You know what they say, "out with the old, in with the new" ... Good thing I have a reliable backup for my 150,000 images

Apologies for not getting to see all my contacts this week, i'm in the middle of reconfiguring my PC after a HDD failure, the good news is it looks like it was the MBR (boot section) so the data is intact, but i'm having to start again with all my apps etc
