I had a whole bunch of these beautiful flocks of pansies in deep violet and purple shades blossoming in my garden in the spring ! Every morning, and these rich vibrant lil fellas would embalm me with the color and its energy and bright happy moods !

And i found my best color :)

I have tried to capture the nothern lights and the Big Dipper together for awhile now. Rhis is my best attempt to date. I'm not sure how many exposures I took trying to get this photo. The northern lights were out but not extremely strong. After about an hour they briefly got more intense. It was not a really clear night so that gave less stars visible in the sky which fortunately brought out the Big Dipper. The fog lights of my vehicle were turned on for about half the exposure giving a little light to the foreground.

Have a nice new week dear friends.

A pair of Steel-blue Cricket Hunter Wasps circled my yard for several days. The only place they would stop was on the orange flowers of the Butterfly Weed.

They strongly resemble Blue Mud Dauber Wasps, which have a longer pedicel (the "stalk" that connects their thorax to their abdomen).

Butterfly Weed is a native plant species, and my favorite Michigan wildflower. Ironically, I have never seen a butterfly land on the flowers, although it does attract a variety of wasps and hornets.

Have no idea what this is, just thought it was pretty. Anyone who does not is more than welcome to mention in the comments.

This is a decorative pillow cover:)

I have long ago accepted that I am a little crazy and a little weird. It wasn't that exciting a revelation though. Turns out everyone is.

Another one from my crocus shoot last week.

have a nice weekend :)

I have posted two photos of this scene in sequence ... this one ... a telephoto capture at 200mm and the other at 62mm. It was, of course, not a devil moon at all but really quite beautiful .... poetic license and all that and any excuse to include a link to a Creedence Clearwater song. :)

I have seen one (and only one) of these Katydids in our yard each year for the past five years, but I heard it every night. This summertime visitor happily munched leaves in the large locust tree in our backyard. The tree was removed this year, and I imagine the source of most of the insects in our yard will be gone as well. (Honey Locust trees attract a profusion of aphids, leafhoppers, lacewings, katydids--well any type of sucking or chewing insect that eats plants).

Broad-winged Katydid (Microcentrum rhombifolium).

Have a pleasant Thanksgiving weekend and thanks for the visit.

Have a Happy Smile on Saturday😀

Mierlo, The Netherlands

I have a grandcat and a granddog and even a cat nephew. But I have no cute face shots of my grands that were taken by me, and I'm pretty sure my sister will be posting a photo of my feline nephew. So here is Rufus, my Connecticut neighbor's cat. We called him "the philosopher cat" because he would sit on his porch for hours staring in one direction, seemingly contemplating life on Alewife Cove. He's been gone for several years now, but I still think about him often. And he looks a lot like my grandcat! ^-^

I have to say that getting out at 4am is worth every bit when the prize is having the whole of the Quiraing to yourself on a morning like this!!

The sun just making an appearance before clouding over.

This is an essential walk for any photographer as it passes though some of the most spectacular landscapes in Scotland.

As part of the Trotternish ridge it has been formed by a massive landslip which has created high cliffs, hidden plateaus and pinnacles of rock. Choose a clear day and bring your camera.

beside the street, during walk around.. I found him so enjoyable his big plate...very cute.

… a weird sight along Greenwich Peninsula. This is an actual slice of the former dredger ship Arco Trent. ‘A Slice of Reality’ is a contemporary art installation by sculptor Richard Wilson, set up over 20 years ago.

Have a great weekend :-)
