With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe, and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

After Holi (The festival of color), Diwali is my second favorite festival of Hinduism. It is the festival of light. I was always fascinated with the history behind the holiday and the vibrant lights, candles and rangoli decorations I used to witness during my school days.

This is what brought magic to my life and made me believe that light would always prevail over darkness. I do love darkness too since if there was no dark, light wouldn't really exist. That is where wisdom comes from. ;)

What most forget is Diwali is not just the festival of light, but a reminder of good over evil, wisdom over ignorance and to always give thanks for our good fortunes in life.

P.S. Quite late (Well 26th is the last day xD) but didn't want to miss spending a Diwali moment with this lion.

Festival of Light.

Shine like sparkles, glow like candles and burn all the negativity like crackles. Wish you all a very lovely & cheerful Diwali.

Sending love and light to anyone who reads this post. ✨✨✨

I'm not in my best moment right now while typing this. My mom is sick and I am asked to stay away from home just to be careful since I'm sickly too. My family is my greatest weakness and this pandemic has caused me to worry ALOT about them. But I am reminding myself that i should not forget in the darkness what God has promised to me in the light. He will take care of my family. Things will be alright. My mom will be alright.

I also find true solace in the fact that I have someone now who I can share my worries and my overthinking-out-of-this-world thoughts. I have always been one who keeps things on my own and go through things alone. My position in life obligates me to act strong in front of everyone but at the end of each day, I find myself talking to the wall and crying when it's just me in bed. But now, it is uplifting to have someone who you can be weak and be real, who listens to you and assures you things will be alright. It's not even the amount of hours we talk or the depth of advice he gives (we dont coz we have busy lives), it's simply knowing he is THERE. Thank you very much, Sam. You are not just my lover. You are my best friend. I love you 💕

And so to anyone in a dark spot right now, may lights guide you home - be it God, your family, your lover, your friend, your furbaby or even a box of pizza or a pint of ice cream - and that you would be able to able to find comfort and peace 💛

May the lamps of Diwali illuminate your life, may the colors of rangoli usher in happiness, may the delicious Diwali desserts add sweetness to your life, and may you be blessed with Almighty's choicest blessings 💛💛💛

Today's Diwali or Deepavali as it is known here in Malaysia, the Hindu festival of lights. Wishing all Flickr members who celebrate it a happy day with lots of blessings for a more peaceful world.

This photo of an Indian art installation on a floor in a mall was taken by my sister-in-law. The "kolam" is composed of thousands of grains of coloured rice painstakingly put together.

Diwali is a festival of lights. The festival is widely associated with Lakshmi, goddess of prosperity. In Jain tradition, Diwali is celebrated in observance of "Mahavira Nirvana Divas", the physical death and final nirvana of Lord Mahavira.

Happy Diwali!

Wish you all a very happy and prosperous Diwali.

Diwali means "rows of lighted lamps" and the celebration is often referred to as the Festival of Lights.

On the third day (the last day of the year in the lunar calendar), lamps are lighted and shine brightly in every home.

The lamp symbolizes knowledge and encourages reflection upon the purpose of each day in the festival.
