Happy New Year for everybody!!😘

It would be a bit more halloween-ish if it had a spider in it, but never mind..!! I was cackling witch-like when I processed it :-)

WISH YOU ALL A GREAT WEEKEND

I've got that right, don't I?

A few have mentioned they never tire of fall foliage shots and I reckon we'll continue to test that theory for a while. The winds over the last few days have done their annual duty, yet the oaks endure as they tend to do, the last to give up the ghost...tho some only do so with the arrival of new buds in the spring, somehow hanging on throughout our trying winter.

Another very nice day for late October, so off we go to the canoe to enjoy a relatively rare windless day.

Wishing you all many wonderful photographic captures in 2016!

The Scottish Blackface is one of the most common breeds in England. There are currently about 3 million ewes in Great Britain, which is 16% of the total sheep population in England, which consists of many breeds!

The Scottish Blackface is a very strong breed that can survive well in the rugged Scottish mountains.

Originally, this breed was mainly kept for the wool, which due to its fiber length, resilience and wear resistance is extremely suitable for the carpet industry and for the original Scottish and Irish tweeds and kilts.

We are really going through some different times. I can't help but wonder how we'll come out on the other side. My mother went through the depression, and we were never able to throw something away. At my grandfathers farm, if we took a building apart we had to straighten the nails out.

So, I'm wondering, we will forever be afraid to get close to someone. We will always collect toilet paper..;)

Sesame Knot Rolls

Challah Recipe (Marylyn Pisseri)

1 cup warm water

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 1/2 teaspoons salt

2 eggs, room temperature

4 cups bread flour

2 1/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon water

2 Tbsp powdered sugar

Place warm water, sugar, honey, vegetable oil, salt, 2 eggs, flour and yeast in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Dough cycle; press Start.

After the machine is done, take the dough out, and place it on a very lightly floured board, punch the dough down, and let rest for 5 minutes.

For challahs: Divide the dough in half. Then divide into 3 equal pieces, roll into ropes about 12 to 14 inches, and braid into a loaf. Do the same with the remaining other half. Gently put the loaves on a greased cookie sheet, mist with water, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours in a warm, draft free place, until double in size.

For rolls: Divide dough into 12 rolls. Shape into long pieces and make a knot. Let rise for at least an hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a small bowl, beat together 1 egg, 1 tablespoon water and 2 Tbsps powdered sugar.

Brush risen loaves with egg mixture. Bake in preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes.

Hope everyone had or is having a great weekend. Putting all these coastal shot up is making me want to make a run to the beach ..;)

The three happy beads measure a total of 5.71 cm (2.25 ins) across.

After several attempts I was just happy for the beads not moving!

HMBT

We're getting close to the weekend. The good thing about this weekend is I get to see my middle daughter, the one that lives in Dallas, of course she'll be with you know who.

We are under a severe weather alert. My phone keeps lighting up with warnings. Hopefully it won't be as bad as they think.

I'm hurrying to get this out in case I lose Internet. May even lose electric.

I have not great skills in Photoshop, but just for fun I tried to make a card for Halloween.

I hope you have a great time on this eccentric day. Unfortunately Halloween is not part of our culture, but I admit that in recent years Brazilians are trying to introduce, unofficially, this celebration in our calendar :)
