THEY may be widespread and rather nondescript, streaked brown bird, but I have a real affection for them, as a ground-dwelling species, it is quite approachable with care. Feeds on invertebrates as seen, a bit harder in the capture in the winter when they often form loose flocks.

"Light That Shines Through"

Mother can you

Let me go

I want to fly

But I don't want to fall anymore

Father can you

Pull me up

I want to fight

But it feels like my times almost out

Sister can you

Stay and talk

I know you're here

Cause you were there from the start

Baby can you

Forgive what I did

I want to love

But I can't get these thoughts out of my head

Who's gonna save me now?

Who's gonna save me now?

Who's gonna save me now?

Who's gonna save me now?

Mother can you

Tell me what do

Is this all there is

Or is there ever light that shines through

Father can you

Here me scream

I want to show you I am

But you're not listening

Brother can you

Say your proud

I know you are

But I need to hear you say it out loud

Who's gonna save me now?

Who's gonna save me now?

Who's gonna save me now?

Who's gonna save me now?

took this after a rain...no spraying here...lol

Nothing real special about this shot. I just like the way it's framed. Here's some history for those who follow history..:)

Arriving in Texas in the mid 1840s, German farmers became the first settlers of what is now known as Gruene, Texas. Ernst Gruene, a German immigrant, and his bride Antoinette, had reached the newly established city of New Braunfels in 1845, but acreage was scarce. Thus, Ernst and his two sons purchased land just down river, and Ernst built the first home in Gruene in early fachwerk style. His second son, Henry D. Gruene, built his home (now Gruene Mansion Inn) and planted his surrounding land with cotton. Having become the number one cash crop, the cotton business soon brought 20 to 30 families to Henry D.'s lands.

Two different trees go their way together ;)

About the series & the forbidden Forest

My dear Flickr-Friends,

All of the Photos were shot in a Forest, which the German Wehrmacht and the American Army used as a military training area. Many deadly duds are still hiding in the ground and leaving the official paths is strictly forbidden. For each photo, I want to share some information about the place, my technique or my editing. For me the work was extremely satisfying. Alone in the forest I was able to see its different faces and I also like the final results very much. I hope you can enjoy my Photos as much as I did and if you like, leave a comment and I will try to answer adequately :)

Soon to be ice world as 5F(-15C) temps overnight finally created the first ice formation along the shores of the lake, only to vanish as sun and a brisk southerly wind loosened its grip. Nevertheless, inevitability generally overcomes persistence..
