This organisation engaged over 450 schools, Gurdwaras and villages Punjab-wide to celebrate Sikh Environment day through special environment morning assemblies in schools and speech and lectures in Gurdwaras and villages to inculcate the ownership, respect and responsibility for the natural resources and environment. Teams from this organisation went and joined most of their venues and involved school staff and students; all the celebrations emphasized on caring water, keeping our surroundings clean and individual responsibility to plant and nurture a tree. Students were encouraged to read their poetry, hymns and essays on environment. The Gurdwaras they involved celebrated the Gurpurab with singing hymns and a write up on ‘Nearer to Nature: Nearer to God.’
