Again, just couldn't resist. Even though the place have been quite "worn out", the weather and light were just too good to skip: Strong drizzle turning into thick fog.

By the way: I totally underestimated drizzle. 10K mm water column for the jacket and pants didn't help at all. Almost instantly, I was completely soaked. Having a SL2-S certainly helped though.

Macro Mondays theme: Guilty Pleasure

I was about to upload my offering this morning when I remembered I had not yet visited wordle yet -- probably my strongest guilty pleasure/pain. I was wondering whether my current streak of 141 would hold through to the new year. I plugged in the word I've been using for the entire streak and was shocked to see that it finally succeeded! I pasted the results to the text file I use to track my results and photographed a corner of it over today's macro Monday screen. The entry I would have posted is in the comments.

I take this opportunity to thank my few and loyal followers for acknowledging my feeble attempts at macro photography and wish you all a cracking new year!

HMM

A year ago today I was forced to retire from my position as a Consultant Radiographer due to medical reasons. Its unbelievable that in 6 weeks time 2022 will come to an end. It has been a hard year. The transition has not been easy. Instead of spending the first year of my retirement travelling and writing, taking photographs and reading as planned my time has been spent as a full time carer. My wonderful mother-in-law succumbed to Malignant Melanoma and it has been my honour to look after her as she moved to our house for her final months to allow her to spend this time with her family. But my condition has played its part and a break is really needed. Two more trips planned before the end of this year. Firstly, a winter walk in Cornwall to complete the Caradon Trail and secondly, staying in Sandwich meeting my publisher for the book I am writing and to meet up with "Mr Orchid" and the man taking me to the Arctic next year, John.

Its my birthday in a few weeks time and Melanie asked me what I would like to do? I said "A walk, a pint or three and a real pasty!" "Is that all you want?" she said, "Yes" I said, "Actually a pasty in Cornwall and a walk along the Caradon Way" I said. "Why not" Melanie said, so I am staying in Liskeard, walking the fabulous Caradon Way and visiting Looe on the Looe to Liskeard Line to have a pasty from Sarah's, simply the best Pasty's in the world.

Golitha Falls on the Caradon Way Long Distance Footpath, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall and something I have always wanted to do, and especially in the winter.....

Subject: Macro Textures

----------------------------------------------------

If you run your fingers across the labeling, you can feel the texture. Every once in a while, I indulge in a mocha frappucchino from Starbucks. A lot of calories, but so delicious. HMM ! !

A Christmas indulgence - better wine than the usual!

The visible extent of the image is 3".

Bogart had himself an absolutely delicious pre-Easter treat. Quite decadent, really. After all, it was the first time (and Kevin hopes the last time) that he enjoyed a New York strip steak. A full 14 ounces or so. Raw. Yep, right off the counter. Yep, the puppy who can reach anything on the counter without difficulty is truly innocent. After all, Magnus was outside. And no feline, in spite of their desires, would be able to down an entire steak in a matter of the minute or two the steak was left unattended. But, being the thoughtful dog he is, Bogart chose to leave the second steak--untouched--for Kevin. See how sweet he is?

BTW, this look really is objecting to my "wait" command after I tossed a treat. How dare I.

We spotted this eagle on the grounds of the Berlin (NH) Fish Hatchery. I suspect it had been helping itself to the Governor's trout, because it was so stuffed, it could scarcely fly.

Fuji X-T20, Minolta MD Zoom 75-150mm F4. Heavy crop. I didn't have time to change the focal length, so that's why EXIF incorrectly says 16mm.

One guilty pleasure is the time I spend on my gardens and even more than that is the time I spend photographing them each year. A new guilty pleasure is a macro lens for my iPhone. I was having a hard time getting a decent shot because I can't hold the phone still enough. Then I discovered I could get an adapter so I can use it with a tripod including my little Joby tripod. So, now I can start playing with it. This is my first decent shot.

for the record, this is not just doll collecting, . this is what you call appreciation of beauty and art . . well something like that! LOL

Yes, I'm guilty, but much happy

It's always a guilty pleasure to take photos of my dolls. This beautiful girl is from my 1960's collection of vintage Barbie dolls.

HMM!

I guess when you go on Etsy looking for a cat mask out of the blue you can expect a package. This girl has an outstanding collection of her works on Etsy.

When all the fingers point your way, you can only assume one thing--you're guilty. It doesn't matter what of--when it comes to guilt most people can effortlessly fill in the blanks. I've always found it better to go for remorse.

A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "guilty pleasure". In my case a small glass of liqueur with some high cocoa chocolate.

Nelson has been practising on a lot of different facial expressions lately.

This one is the guilty face....

I hope this painting is something you cant relate too,

More undercover action...well not really action, just a slightly guilty expression from Shakespeare. He was just taking a quick breather from a game we were playing. When he gives me this look I often wonder damage I will find around the house :o)

Thought I would be very random today and a take a mini break before I upload some more Sunflower images.

Macro Mondays, Theme "Guilty Pleasure"

Difficult choice... But may be, sneaking after lunch to get more speculoos than the kids is the one I feel more guilt about! But after all, THEY mustn't eat that much suggar ! ;-)
