...it's not so much the eating of a fried chicken sandwich but the fact that I feel the urge to photograph this culinary masterpiece! As you may well know I do have a 'guilty secret' in that besides, the urban landscape, beach and sunsets there is an urge to photograph all things gastronomic too!
Bon appetit ;-)

it was a real treat! everyone loved it :)
My top "guilty pleasure" is drinking too much Diet Coke. I love the stuff! At my age just about everything about it is deemed to be bad for my health but did I mention I love the stuff. The artificial sweetener can play havoc with one's blood sugar and A1C levels. The caffeine is, well a stimulant and not all that cool for an aging heart, and the sodium in the carbonation is bad for my blood pressure. Does all that slow me down a bit? Not a chance. I don't drink alcohol or coffee or smoke tobacco or weed so I I figure as guilty pleasures go I can easily rationalize it as OK.
Area shown is about 45mm wide.
Macro Mondays theme: Guilty Pleasure
I don't really play with toys, Guv -- but photographing miniature things makes it easy to tell little tales. Words are my life. No guilt there. This is a miniature plastic camera in front of some of the Funco Bitty Pop! figures I got for Christmas. Each of them is 2.2cm.
Hope you all had a great holiday. Thanks for your loyal appreciation and Happy New Year!

This one really made me chuckle with the bent ear and the guilty look. Another one taken with the Phone cam. He really is my muse!

One of my guilty pleasures is having a good stout (beer). This is not Guiness but Coopers Best Extra Stout from Auatralia.
Personally, I like Coopers better than Guiness!
The glass is just under 65mm across the top.

Yeah, that crossing... I guess I just call that one guilty pleasure. But the moment seemed just right.
Macro Mondays theme: Guilty Pleasure
I was about to upload my offering this morning when I remembered I had not yet visited wordle yet -- probably my strongest guilty pleasure/pain. I was wondering whether my current streak of 141 would hold through to the new year. I plugged in the word I've been using for the entire streak and was shocked to see that it finally succeeded! I pasted the results to the text file I use to track my results and photographed a corner of it over today's macro Monday screen. The entry I would have posted is in the comments.
I take this opportunity to thank my few and loyal followers for acknowledging my feeble attempts at macro photography and wish you all a cracking new year!

Just a quick snapshot of yesterday's sunset down at the beach near me. I stacked 3 filters to get this. Professionally handheld, of course.
I might not be on much the next couple of weeks. I've been in jury duty, and to my surprise might be on a jury for the next 3 weeks. Perhaps not. We'll find out later today. I used to hate jury duty, but now I'm curious to see how the legal process works. So perhaps just today again, or upto the next 3 weeks. So I'll let some shots trickle in when I have time.
Now go get your Christmas shopping done!
A year ago today I was forced to retire from my position as a Consultant Radiographer due to medical reasons. Its unbelievable that in 6 weeks time 2022 will come to an end. It has been a hard year. The transition has not been easy. Instead of spending the first year of my retirement travelling and writing, taking photographs and reading as planned my time has been spent as a full time carer. My wonderful mother-in-law succumbed to Malignant Melanoma and it has been my honour to look after her as she moved to our house for her final months to allow her to spend this time with her family. But my condition has played its part and a break is really needed. Two more trips planned before the end of this year. Firstly, a winter walk in Cornwall to complete the Caradon Trail and secondly, staying in Sandwich meeting my publisher for the book I am writing and to meet up with "Mr Orchid" and the man taking me to the Arctic next year, John.
Its my birthday in a few weeks time and Melanie asked me what I would like to do? I said "A walk, a pint or three and a real pasty!" "Is that all you want?" she said, "Yes" I said, "Actually a pasty in Cornwall and a walk along the Caradon Way" I said. "Why not" Melanie said, so I am staying in Liskeard, walking the fabulous Caradon Way and visiting Looe on the Looe to Liskeard Line to have a pasty from Sarah's, simply the best Pasty's in the world.
Golitha Falls on the Caradon Way Long Distance Footpath, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall and something I have always wanted to do, and especially in the winter.....
GUILTY WITH HONOUR
The Verdict is in for the Sea Shepherd volunteers arrested for trying to stop the slaughter of Pilot whales at Sandavagur last month.
The Sandavagur Five Enjoyed Their Day in Court.
All five were given the honour of being found guilty of extreme acts of compassion and radical acts of kindness.
The judge ruled that camera equipment will not be confiscated.
Frances Holtman: 31,000 Danish kroner or 14 days jail (€4,153) ($4,678) U.S.
Rudy de Kieviet: 30,000 kroner or 14 days jail (€4,019) ($4,527)
Lawrie Thomson: 25,000 kroner or 14 days jail (€3,349) ($3,773)
Alice Rusconi Bodin: 25,000 kroner or 14 days jail (€3,349) ($3,773)
Tobias Boehm: 25 000 kroner or 14 days jail (€3,349) ($3,773)
Total fines: 136,000 Kroner or €18,220 $20,525 U.S.
The fines won’t be paid. The five stand ready to serve their time in a Danish jail with honor and dignity but they expect the court to deny them that opportunity and deport them instead.
