This recipe booklet, "Heinz Guide to Successful Pickling", is a wonderful piece of ephemera. It is illustrated and contains fabulous vintage recipes--just like Grandma made!

The softcover booklet was published by H.J. Heinz Co. and is copyrighted 1975. This booklet is 31 pages long. It measures 5.5" (14 cm) wide and 8.5" (21.6 cm) tall. It is in good vintage condition with a fold on the back cove and a pen mark on the front cover.

This nostalgic booklet would make a fabulous collectible or could be put to great use in your scrapbook, collage, altered art, card or mixed media projects.

Konzeption und Realisation des Hagener City Guides

I think perhaps one day a week the children who were guides or scouts wore their uniforms to school. Scouting/Guiding is big in this part of Thailand.

I took a lot of pictures of life at Naam's place (Mother Naam's) and with her kids. It was such a wonderful place to be. The atmosphere was full of love, happiness, cooperation, sharing, playfulness, kid energy, family ties -- just a great place to be.

We were in Sangkhlaburi from Saturday, February 2nd to Friday, February 22.

For the 2013 Spring Festival holiday time we went to Thailand again (Jan 30 - Feb 27). This visit was primarily to spend time with our friend, Naam, and meet the 20+ children she cares for close to the Thai-Burmese (Myanmar) border in Sangkhlaburi.

The man in the blue shirt was Enrique, our guide for the tour of the ruins of Pompeii. He's a native of Campania, the region of Italy we were in. He had a dry sense of humour and his favourite saying was "Okie dokie artichokie".
