As we continue our journey and the challenge of Guarding your light and connecting it to share our care and love, I encourage more of my friends to take time to think about what it means to you and post a photo with that hash tag. Let us see your light, let's make it glow! Going to tag more people here...let the light spread. :D

"Guard your light and protect it. Move it forward into the world and be fully confident that if we connect light to light to light, and join the lights together of the one billion.... people in our world today, we will be enough to set our whole planet aglow." ~ Hafsat Abiola-Costello. Hafsat is an amazing person spreading the light in real world, making an impact and a change maker! www.vitalvoices.org/people/hafsat-abiola-costello/

Thank you @Sonic for being co-conspirator in this awesome challenge. You are always that bright light I see...thank you for you!

Thank you so much Connor Mitchell for tagging me in #GuardYourLight, I loved the sense of this challenge started by {{Timaaj}} ... and I tried

Don't mind me. I am from another planet. I still see horizons where you draw borders

Frida Kahlo

I borrow this phrase ...

By having awareness that the shadows are around us but with the certainty that around us there are infinite luminous horizons that infuse us with their light and positivity!

Around me there will continue to be people or situations that will try to build walls and shadows. That's life!

But I have learned (and continue to learn) to see and do not neglect the beauty around me (even in the little things) to defuse the shadows of those walls !!

So I try to move with lightness and irony towards small and large luminous horizons to feed my inner light :))

(I'm still studying anyway ...: P)

Since i’m not a native speaker, I’m allowing myself to quote Marianne Williamson (and I’m in very good company)...

„ Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Excerpt of Nelson Mandela‘s Inauguration Speech

Thank you so much for the GuardYourLight challenge, Clarrissa

You’re amongst the ones who shine the brightest, I’m honoured to call you a friend.

I’m not challenging anyone else, but I will send an invite because I would love to see the light of the beautiful people I tagged...

Special thanks to Teej and Sonic who brought this into life.

"You need to guard your light, your peace and your joy is yours to protect" (Nabela Noor). With all that is going on sometimes it feels there is a lot happening all together. There is this feeling of drowning. Sonic and I were talking about how important it is to protect yourself and make time for self care in middle of all this chaos. So we will be doing a few pics that shows some self care or things we love to do.....hoping it inspires others. This photo make me feel warm and cozy, it reminds me of a vacation home.

Here is to all my friends...will you take up the "guard your light" challenge.

Many thanks to my good friend Connor Mitchell who tagged me to participate in the #GuardYourLight Challenge, based on a idea from {{Timaaj}} . Challenge Accepted. I hope I met your expectations.

In the story of creation in Genesis until the creation of light, there was only darkness. Nothing to see. Nothing to do. No order. Even the darkness itself was technically invisible since there was no light to give it definition and contrast. Light gave everything . . .

If you are one of the few who have been paying attention, you already know that the seaside is my number one happy place. Some say the oceans are the original source of all life as we know it. Just to meditate on that in the presence of that beauty and majesty calms my soul. The sounds of Mother Ocean's rhythms, the scents of her breezes, and the chorus of her wildfowl fill my senses to overflowing. She refreshes my light.

When I share my light, it is like a message in a bottle. I send it out blindly. I never know who it will shine on, or when, or where. Will it be bright enough? Will it even be noticed? Will it do what I intended? I have to have faith that somehow, somewhere my message makes someone's day a little better. Hopefully enough better that they will send out their own bottle.

The world can oftentimes be a very dark place. Some may say that not only can darkness never truly exist without the light to illuminate it, neither can light exist without darkness to give it definition. Some day I would like to see that theory tested.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that."

― Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I was challenged by an angel, my beautiful friend Doddy, and I tried to do my best to honor her, with this image.

There are angels among us, than not only guard our Light but they don't let it go out.

They are our friends .

The gift of connection is what heals us, and it is indeed, always , a miracle.

Guarding my light for me means taking time to recharge, amid a chaotic world, and to center. When I guard my light I go in a place of silence, where I return to the awareness of why we are here. We are here to love.

Choosing our Light side is always a choice, among the many shades we carry and live within us.

Guarding my light for me is choosing every day to come from a place of compassion and understanding, and of respect for all life.

Being able to guard my own light,

sometimes also means guarding others.

I'm a positive, social person in both worlds

and would love to give all people equal attention.....

although it's not easy,

so many pulling you in or trying to change who you are...

So be yourself.... but care !

Care.....not only for others but most of all...

for the world we live in!

We only have one that can stand our presents....

Care for yourself and others to make this world a loving place.

I was challenged by my very dear friend Ethan to partake in the #guardyourlight challenge that T E E J ✿ launched spontaneously a few days ago on her Flickr.

I was inspired and snapped this last night. Now it's my turn to challenge some talented artists to keep it alive and do something inspired by those words !

Friends, if you've been tagged,

grab your cameras and "Guard your light! "

”You have this way of seeing the Light in others. You have this way of noticing what is beautiful and unique about those around you. And I just hope you know, the same Light you see within others is shining within you too. You have this way of holding up a mirror to others and making sure they feel seen, and this is a very valuable thing. But sometimes, that can make you feel a little less seen yourself... a little less valuable, and less important than everyone else. So in case no one told you lately, it’s okay to turn that mirror around and see you for you, too. And know that no matter who does or does not notice you, Light is running wild within you. It shows up in your laughter. Your stories. Your presence. And I am sorry for all the times no one has taken the time to let you know this, in the same way that you have done this for so many others. I just wanted to remind you this is true: the same Light you see in others is shining within you, too.

This was my therapy today, its a good thing I enjoy it. Been thinking about all things that uplift you giving you more light and things that drag you down sucking the light out of you and how to separate yourself from that. It's very easy said than done. But one day at a time. #Guardyourlight
