With all the neat stuff running around the CP system lately, it's worth looking at how just about everything looked not that long ago. Grungy, dirty, beaten-up CP 8515 is second out on a manifest leaving Milwaukee, crossing National Avenue on a hazy evening. There was once a Milwaukee Road station here, built under the National Avenue bridge and the embankment behind it. It was named Allis, for the Allis-Chalmers plant formerly located nearby, and mostly served shift workers there. Even though the plant eventually moved west (to West Allis- that name is no coincidence) and the station closed in the mid-1920s, it somehow survived intact except for the platforms, (though remnants of them do still exist at track level) and from the 1930s onward was home to a model railroad club where Al Kalmbach, among other early notables in the Midwestern railfan hobby, regularly met. The old stationhouse can still be seen (to the left of the restaurant here) today. Beyond it is another overpass, that of the old C&NW passenger line to the lakefront, today used by UP to serve a couple local industries and not much else.

Grunge photography goes far beyond what the naked eye perceives and brings with it a dimension of frightening, mystery and powerful emotions.
These images are usually heavily edited and enhanced in order to create the grunge effect.
This effect can be described as dark, dirty, old, gloomy and definitely has an eerie vibe to it. Dirty textures and background images are almost essential in every grunge design.
But grunge photography could be also poetic and could transmit a story of the day life or romantic emotions, the concept could be more broad applicable to several compositions with grunge textures: coffee rings, spilled out liquids, dirty stains, torn paper and dirty edges, hand-written elements, paper- and photo clips, needles and various pins, etc .. be creative !! : )

hey,, since I have exams at the uni , and a lot of coursework, I did not use my camera for really long time and I really miss processing and taking new shots, so I thought I could process an old shot and try new things .
so I processed this shot that I have a similar one , but I wanted to give this a Illustrative Grunge look ..
Also check the old shot and tell me which processing is better please ?
