Growing old can make simple things challenging. Many people think aging is a linear process but your body tells a different story. New research: www.cnn.com/2024/08/20/health/dramatic-human-aging-scli-i...

This photo is inspired by one of my all-time favorite artists, Julia Fullerton-Batten.
These last few days have been hectic for me, but so, so good. I had my show opening which was a success! Thanks to all of you who came out :-)
And I spent the last two days on a photo excursion with my friend Christine, who you know from Flickr. She flew out here for my show opening and then we went on many adventures, including many lies to get done what we needed to do, so I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm a chronic liar after fibbing to the police officer and the people at the craft store.
And last but not least, today I am running off to do my first television interview! I'm a bit nervous but excited as well!
Oh and just to note, there is no implied "abortion" theme here. My thoughts behind this were to depict a young girl who wants to grow up faster than she is, and so she essentially makes herself menstruate for the first time.

Before the Rose begins to capture our senses it starts off as a bud. It may be overlooked by larger more colorful of the same species but nonetheless it’s also a Rose. “Growing” is something that all living things go through. I’m sure this particular bud grew as large and photogenic as any other bud in that particular rose bush. Thanks for viewing my photos. I hope that Gratitude and Kindness are a part of your day today.

We planted three small perennial plants of Physalis alkekengi, (aka bladder cherry, Chinese lantern, Japanese-lantern, strawberry, groundcherry, or winter cherry). I love the cheery orangish lantern-shaped paper-like pod or husk around each bright round seed.
Now we have new plants in addition to those we planted last fall. A fun photo from this morning, before I ship the rental Sigma 35mm f/1.4 lens back to lensrentals.com.
Elbow tripod belly shot.
And what lens shall I rent next?
We have a large patch of wild strawberries growing in our garden at the moment, which provided the ideal photo for today.
Edited in Elements and texture added for Slider Sunday. I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend. HSS!
Sep. 26, 2016: One of several vehicles with trees growing out of them at the Solar Living Center near Hopland, California. The Grow Thru Car grove contrasts with the drive-through Redwood trees just up Highway 101. A year ago, the site was purchased and now called the EcuTerra Center. #growthrucars #highway101 #solarlivinginstitute

The Rachel is next to the Arber the second highest mountain of the Bavarian forest. The thonderstorm Kyrill has destroyed a great amount of the forest, as can be seen on this picture. Meanwhile, a new generation of trees is growing.
My first English cucumber of 2023 is ready to pick today in the greenhouse. The recent hot spell we had in Vancouver had it growing almost an inch a day! This is the English Burpless Hybrid variety, but the Japanese cucumbers (Summer Dance Hybrid) and the Chelsea Prize, which have the most fruit, are not far behind.
