Death is a part of every life. As they saying goes, life is short. May you have the courage and strength to live yours to the fullest. Happy snapping.
The theme for the Smile on Saturday group this week is vases and flower pots. I happen to have a lot of both.
As I was looking around at them I decided to go with this one. I have had this vase since I was a teenager and my parents owned an antique shop, in the little Ohio town I grew up in.
This vase was made to stand on a table or hang on a wall. I have always kept her on a table or a desk. For the past nineteen years, she has stood upon an antique secretary desk in my room. But now that I am re-doing the room that I now refer to as the rose room, I believe she will go on the wall.

Orange you glad that it's butterfly season again? Okay, to be fair, I know it's not butterfly season everywhere but it sure is looking like it around here. Monarchs are doing fantastic on their own, there are several flitting about the yard each day.
It won't be long and there will be more joining the ones that are already here. I officially began raising them on March 2, 2021. That means that I have several in the pupae stage and a bunch more munching away in protective custody.
I also have Zebra Longwings (zebra heliconian) pupas. Goldrims (Polydamas Swallowtails) have been here to lay eggs as well. However, I have not collected any since I still have so many Pupas from last year waiting to emerge. I will raise a few goldrims towards the end of the season. They just hang out too long in the pupa stage and there is no more space for them at the moment.
Anyway, this beautiful boy was on the milkweed by the pond and I snapped his photo to place in the "Crazy Tuesday" group this week. The theme is "Orange". I think the ponds water made for a nice background to make this beauties color pop.

The theme for Smile on Saturday this week is "TIMEPIECES".
There is always a lot to be said for time. I find that it is often easier said than done to spend time wisely. However, someone recently reminded me that "Time" is our greatest commodity. That statement is so true. One cannot make more or buy more time.
Time is precious, I hope that you are able to spend the majority of your time on this earth doing things in life that bring you great joy. Have a lovely day and happy snapping.
The Smile on Saturday's group theme is "A Light in the Dark".
I have been calling the front living room/dining room combo in my house The Rose Room. That area of the house is going through some modifications and such. I can hardly wait for it to be completed.
The end tables in the Rose Room were converted from garden planters. Lights have been inserted into the pot portion of the planters and glass tabletops from my former tables were placed on top.
The light in this image comes from the light that was inserted in the planter. The Thomas Edison Figurine is a whisky decanter I found at an antique shop in Micanopy Florida recently, the seal was never broken. The figurine sits alongside of the Edison Phonograph and a few of the two minute cylinders. I like that the Edison figurine is holding a lightbulb.
Just a side note. I have an antique lamp that has been part of my life since I was very young. When I look at that lamp I laugh at all of the new technology claiming 10 year bulbs and costing a fortune.
Those bulbs never seem to last as long as they claim. However, my lamp has the same bulbs that it came with all those years ago. Two of the bulbs recently burned out and cannot be replaced. But the third bulb still works. The lamp is used nightly in my master suite. All three bulbs lasted for 40 years +. Too bad they can't or won't make bulbs that last like that anymore. It sure would help with the landfill situations.

This image was taken for the “Smile on Saturday” themed group. This week’s theme is earrings.
Alright, alright, don’t laugh, but please smile… Yes, I know these earrings are a little garish, but I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one with a colorful side. So, I am comfortable sharing a little bit of mine.
Fun clothes and accessories are reserved for very specific parties and events that I occasionally attend. You know, ones such as Halloween parties, speakeasy’s and masks, etc.
Things like this are not very practical for gardening and I’m pretty sure that my backyard beauties would not appreciate the flare.

I made this candid photo of Sade and her mother painting their homemade rocket ship with the help of their neighbor who lives in the same building. They looks like they were having fun while keeping Four year old Sade busy. It is not easy to keep a young one entertained in this day of Covid-19. I captured this image from our back deck on August 13, 2020 using my Canon Powershot SX50. I made some getting cards of this photo. The mother, Brianna, told me that she now had a visual to send to her mother who often asks what she and Sade do.
