Losing a child does not make you grow. It wounds you forever. Lost in her pain, a mother may forget that she has a suffering man beside her. A man suffering from the unbearable pain of not being able to console his paramour- a feeling impossible to describe unless you've witnessed the empty belly of the woman you love. We must learn to respect a father's suffering. Recognize his fatherhood of the young lost soul. Men also walk through life barehanded.

“Not everything that is lost is forgotten. And not every loss will hurt your heart forever. . .”

One of the things I’m not good at is grief. I know what you’re supposed to do, and I know all the words that people say. Even the things you say to others. I’ve read the steps, I know all the lines but the actual grieving is the hard part. When it comes to that, I’m the type who buries it away and carries on. . . .

Out of the air a voice without a face

Proved by statistics that some cause was just

In tones as dry and level as the place:

No one was cheered and nothing was discussed;

Column by column in a cloud of dust

They marched away enduring a belief

Whose logic brought them, somewhere else, to grief.

(W. H. Auden)

Besides standing stones there are several smaller stone circles around the moor as well.dating back to before the Pyramids. We loved Arran Island. There is great mystery surrounding them , how they got there and what they signified and how they were used, although most certainly for ritual and religious ceremony.

Please forgive me for not responding to all the wonderful comments lately. I am grateful to all my supporters. My verbal state is in lag as I walk this strange path of loss and grief.

In memory of Nick.

We raised a glass of Guinness to your birthday yesterday.

Some of you know that my life's partner and traveling companion died earlier this week due to complications from lymphoma.

We had many happy travels together and now the universe has shifted. I will always look for you.

"Will we never meet again no more?"

Listen

The Rankin Family- Fare thee well love

So I'll drink today, love

I'll sing to you, love

In pauper's glory, my time I'll bide

No home or ties, love

A restless rover, if I can't have you

By my side

Taking a break for a bit.

When you've lost someone... and you realize it's forever.

Damn that hurts!

I don't ever want to go through this again.

I have to move on.

"Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul."

No howl can lift the morning fog,

No paw can heal the pain once dealt.

With heads bowed low, the pack moves on—

Goodbyes are hard, but must be felt.

The constant sorrow in the life of a cemetery.

... because of the truths that are revealing themselves in the present situation of the Corona hysteria ... -

... about the people, the politicians, the society ... -

not that I didn't already knew these truths,

but the scale of it is devastating.

♫ Love is a slow song

Playing on the Radio

I know every word by heart

Happiness is soft light

That we see our lives by

Only fading to the dark ♫

The Search

Demeter, Persephone's mother, wanted to know about her daughter. But Cyane no longer had a body, no longer had a mouth to explain. And the girls didn't know what to tell her ...

Blinded by grief, Demeter sent an icy wind over the world that made the land barren.

This series of pictures was loosely based in the myth of the abduction of Persephone, the Goddess daughter of Demeter and Zeus. Some scenes are depicted in the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, others in Ovid's Metamorphoses.
