St Georges, the capital of Grenada. This picture was taken from the Osprey, a powerful catamaran that journeys back and forth between Grenada and the island of Carriacou. Arguably the most beautiful capital in the Caribbean. Unfortunately it was hit by a very powerful hurricane in late 2004, five months after this photo was taken.

Martha and I (draped in gear) were standing on a street corner in Grenada, just as school let out. A group of four "kids" were near by, and one of them said to me, "You like that camera?" We talked a bit, and I asked if I could take their picture (which was difficult for me, since "I don't do people"). The four of them said, "Sure," and they grouped up. But, as I was about to take the picture, all but this fellow moved away. Maybe he knows he is destined for a modeling contract. Look at that face! All he needs is an agent.

Just off the dock where the ships come in, there are markets selling mostly spices and sea shells. And of course I bought spices, some Saffron, Star Anise, Pink Peppercorns, Curry Powder and Nutmeg.

Five 5-0z. jars cost $20.00 U.S. Everyone knows(who cooks) that the Saffron alone would have cost that and more up here in our grocery stores.

So the trip to Grenada was worth it. lol
